It was now 5 o'clock so Mak showered and started to get ready to go out she threw on her old AC/DC shirt and some jeans leaving her hair down in its natural untamed curly mess, and all she did for makeup was eyeliner and mascara. By the time she was done it was ten to six, five minutes later she heard a knock on the door she rushed down the stairs and when she got to the bottom she waited. Not want to seem to eager to see him which she wasn't or so she thought but in the back of her mind she knew, she knew something about him excited her.
When she opened the door she was immediately met by the shockingly green eyes of the tall muscular, Matthew all though he was dressed differently than he was at school she liked it. It suited him better he was wearing an old Def Leopard t-shirt, jeans and a leather jacket. She stood there dumbfounded just admiring how good he looked, but was soon interrupted by the clearing of someone's throat. It was Matthew he spoke up "Are you ready to go?" "yeah" Mak replied grabbing her bag and walking down to meet Matthew at the end of her driveway, he was standing next to an "03" mustang. she took a look at it and asked him " is this your car?" "yes" he replied in a clearly you must be stupid tone. "cool but we aren't driving tonight. We are walking it's easier to get there that way." she stated.
As they walked Mak leading Matthew down the street for a few minutes. The comfortable silence the we're walking in was soon broken by Matthew as Mak turned down a dark alley, " Mak, what are you doing? You do know that it's usually when the teens turn down an alley they get killed right?" Mak rolled her eyes and replied " oh, stop being such a baby. Do you need to hold my hand, so the boogie monster doesn't take you?" with mock sympathy. Matthew being a smartass looked at Mak and said " yea, I think holding your hand would make it better." In a childish voice. With a slight look of annoyance on her face Mak stuck her hand out towards Matthew and he grabbed it slowly interlacing there finger with a small smile. After they got through the alley Matthew figured Mak would probably let go of his hand, but to his surprise she didn't. Once they reached the diner Mak finally released Matthew's hand and walked in. Matthew trailing behind her she walked to a booth and sat, Matthew sitting across from her. Soon a waitress came by taking their orders. Mak and Matthew made small talk about school. Then Matthew looked Mak in the eye and asked her " So, what's your story?" Mak confused asked "What do you mean?" Matthew replied "what's past, what's so different about you, how did you become who you are today, what's your family like? That kind of thing." Mak looked down at her hands playing with her fingers, " I mean there's nothing that special about me, I'm the same as anyone else and my family that's a long story that I don't want to go into right now." Mak said quietly. Matthew was fine with that. They continued through diner getting to know each other more, but family wasn't brought up again.
