Chapter 14 - Old life with new

The next day I walked down the stairs into the bright, white living room where my father was watching TV and my mother was making breakfast for the three of them since Titania left last night after the big explosion from Dannel. "Morning mum" I say as I swing around the corner of the door frame with one hand. "Morning Sonya" she replies with a big smile. "Morning dad" I say as I walk up to the couch. "Morning" he pauses for a second then continues. "Look i'm sorry about last night I didn't mean to, I wasn't thinking straight. I also agree with Claire, if you want to keep the baby then i'll be there to support you". I smile and hugs him. "Thanks dad and actually I have decided.. I want to keep it thats if I am".

Mother, Seth and I went to the hospital to check if I had been pregnant this whole time or haven't. The doc came in "Hello i'm Mr Oakwood i'll be here to give.." He reads the document in his hands. "Sonya". I step forwards. He tells me to lay on the bed so I do and special gel is put on my belly as the ultrasound device goes back and forth on my belly. It was taking a bit and at that point I was kinda hoping I was pregnant after getting excited over all of this. "Ah! See that". It was so small shaped a little like a jellybean. "That's your baby". Excitement came over me and as I look at Seth I could tell he looked more excited.

We head home and as we do I couldn't help but smile. I was so excited but scared at the same time.

We head into the house where dad waited to hear the news. "I'm pregnant" dad smiles then hugs me gently. I was kinda shocked since we had that big fight over this but I was happy. Then something came out of my mouth, something a kid would never say. "I want to finish school". Both look at me with shocked looks. "What? I missed school ok".

That night they rung the school and they accepted me back. "I want to go as well... to protect you" Seth says. "I don't need protecting Seth it's a school where I go to learn. He looks at me. "Wouldn't it be easier for me to learn at the school then you teaching me everything. Also ghouls are most likely to be harmed my other ghouls when pregnant". Mother agreed and also asked about letting Seth joining. "You can NOT and I mean can NOT change into a ghoul since only one of my friends know about this at the school".

It wasn't that long till the two week holidays ended. We got ready at the start of school. I was missing in term one and now it's the fourth term. I see Clara walking up to class lonely but then I run and use my hands on her shoulder as I jump in the air landing next to her. "Clara!" she screams as it was a shock then takes a few seconds to realise it was me. "SONYA!" she looks at me and hugs me. "DON'T leave me again I was so lonely!" I giggle, "Sorry oh" I pause as I tell Seth to come over. "Clara this is Seth, Seth this is my best friend since kindy Clara". She looks at him and her eyes widen. "Hey" Seth says and she just stands there and realises she looks like an idiot then finally says hey back. He laughs a bit and so do I.

As we head into our first class I let Clara catch up on what has happened and why I went missing. "OMG YOU'RE PRE!" I instantly stop her. "You want the whole world to know don't you". She looks at me. "Wow... I wish I was you though, Seth is good looking. Too bad he's a gh". I shut her up. "SHH!" I say sharply. I sigh as Clara laughs but I end up laughing with her. "SHHH!, do your work!" the teacher says. We quickly become quiet then silently giggle together. It was sure good being back at school.

At recess we caught up with each other and Seth comes over from his class. "So what do you think of school so far?". I ask as I look at Seth. "It's actually quite interesting. I had a subject called History". Clara and I both look at him as we listen. "It's kinda ridiculous how the wars started". I interrupt him for a sec to say. "Sometimes humanity is ridiculous". Me and Seth laugh. Clara looks at us. "Not all of us! Just because you aren't" I look at her and she stops her sentence realising what she was gonna say. "Yeah I have a big mouth". Me and Seth laugh with Clara.

Life couldn't get any better then this could it. Well it definitely didn't. As I walk holding Seth's hand to the next class I see one of the people who kidnapped me and fear strikes me. Seth feels me tense up and sees the person looking at us. He death stares the person back as his eyes change for the slight second. "You ok Sonya?" he looks at me as we keep walking. "Y..yeah let's just keep walking". As we turn the corner I see the other person. Straight away the man grabs my arm as it was quiet in the area. As soon as he grabs my arm Seth becomes defensive and growls deeply. "Let her go now" the man looks at Seth and thinks he's a complete joke until Seth flashes his ghoul eyes at the man. He instantly lets go. Silver grabs me around my waist and pulls me to his side and lets me go ahead as he follows behind. My heart was pounding. I knew it wasn't good for the baby but I couldn't help it. It reminded me of when I was kidnapped the first time.
