I was asked to see an elderly patient who had dementia, was wandersome, and had fallen over. I was asked to assess his shin pain. A female clinical support worker (CSW) was sitting with him to discourage him if he tried to climb out of bed again and to keep him company.

He was nice. Cheeky grin, thinning white hair, sparkling blue eyes. He lay in bed in his pyjamas, looking quite comfortable.

I poked him all over -- no bruises, no breaks, nothing bad. I asked him how he is. He said fine. I asked him if there's anything else I can do for him to make his stay better.

Him: No, this is fine. My day is already so much better having seen your lovely face. *sly look and a wink*

CSW: Hey, he said that to me, too.
