Abandoned Canning Factory in Chicago.

"Sir the Bayley twins are of age," Vincent spoke with a shake to his voice. "Even the girl..."

The man with long black hair spoke with an angry tone. "Harmony Bayley cannot possibly have the abilities!"

With a flinch, Vincent attempted to speak. "S...Sir, she's getting the...the headaches."

"She what?" The man was now turned toward Vincent. "Listen to me you need to try and read her mind. If you can't you bring her to me!"

"But master! She's only a young girl."

"I don't care she could be dangerous!"

Vincent knew Harmony Bayley could be far more than a mind-reading teleporter and he knew very well Derek Bayley was strong and would protect his little sister no matter what the cost.

"What if I don't"

"You will have the same fate as Josh Bayley."

Vincent flashed away leaving his master to his thoughts.

The end of Pine way drive 7:56 p.m

The weather was nice and the sky was dark. The road that leads to my house looked like an arch made out of trees and the streetlights made it feel less dark.

My hair was flowing as I walked down my long street. In a way I was happy Kyle wasn't coming all the way to my house because I hate it when people know what luxury I live in.

At the end of the street, I could see headlights. Kyle got out, he was wearing black Vans some dark blue jeans and a red tee. My outfit was basic skinny jeans and a simple blue tank top. The casual wear made me feel better about this supposed date.

He gave me a weird look ."Ready?" He asked standing outside the door of the passenger side.

"Let's go." I hopped in while Kyle walked around the front of the car. The inside of the car smelled surprisingly like vanilla but there were old soda cans and plastic bags all over the back seat.

"So are you going to explain why I had to pick you up at the end of the street?"

I looked in the side mirror. "Well, Derek put me under house arrest for the week while my mom is gone...Hopefully, she'll get home sooner."

"Why are you under house arrest?"

I felt it was unnecessary to tell him about the crazy incident. "I'm a bitch." I smiled. He kept looking at me like I had just summoned a unicorn or something. "What!?"

"I..." He cleared his throat. "I'm sorry... It's your seventeenth birthday today right?"

"Yeah?"

"Seventeen?"I nodded and looked at him in confusion. He must have noticed my confusion because he changed the subject. "Hungry?"

"Sure." The so-called date was off to an awkward start and Kyle kept looking at me like he was trying to figure out what was wrong with me.

He wasn't talking until he asked the most unexpected question. "Who was your dad?"

I was astonished that he would ask a question like this. "What?"

"Your dad what was his name?"

"Can we just go get food please?" Avoiding the question seemed to be a better idea than answering it. Something felt weird and I wasn't about to answer such a sensitive question.

"You're right I...I'm sorry."

I felt so uncomfortable and he kept checking his phone on his lap. We pulled up to the beach. "What happened to food?"
