I find a lot of the advice I read or hear, the speaker / author says that if you listen to music while you write, you should listen to songs you know. But I say, don't. If you are anything like me, and love to song, you will find it extremely distracting and will never finish any of your writings. I end up singing instead of writing. Very rarely can I ignore the familiar tunes and jump into my world in the story.

Though, I do recommend listening to songs that go with the vibe of your story. It could guide you to get into the write vibe / mood for that chapter or story. (I personally like to do it for that chapter because if it's an overall sad story but you have a happy chapter you might write it darkly and in a sad vibe). Spotify has some good playlists I guess, and this next sentence is going to blow your minds but, I prefer Google Play Music. Oh yeah, you heard me right. I feel like they have some amazing playlists put into what they call "stations". I get inspiring vibes from those playlists and I recommend you look at some of those if you have a non iPhone ish device or look it up on your computer.

Though you may not find them to be as great, but I have a weird music taste and as human beings we all have different things that make our minds click or inspire us. So, just try different things and you may find what works for you! Anyways, I find it annoying when writers are like 'it's my way or the highway' kinda vibe. In reality, writing doesn't have much set rules and you don't have to do this or that specifically except don't ignore grammar or spelling rules. With that, this is the end of a more advice essay rather than formal and telling facts because writing changes the rules from person to person and from one genre to another genre. I hope you have found this to be some help to you.
