It was the midst of autumn as he wondered upon the beauty of the sunset sky as it painted the uneven landscape of the town with its tangerine light. The breeze is starting to become chilly, a sign of the upcoming winter. Just like his heart, starting to become cold and melancholic. He's already missing him even though he just recently left.
They used to hang up at their old hideout since their younger years, playing guitar, listening to diverse genres of music, and goofing around. And starting from that day, maybe, he won't be meeting him anymore. Sure they can still chat online but that's nothing as to compare to what they have before. Time and distance surely could change and maybe erase everything and that fear really terrify him.
"Ayumu" a masculine voice cut the silence. He turned his head to see who it was. It was his best friend, Yuuya.
"Why are you still here?" he asked. "You are supposed to be heading at the airport."
He was just silent. It seemed like he have something to say before bidding goodbye. He could read it from his eyes. Even without any spoken language, he could tell that there's something bothering in him. He knows Yuuya that much. He sat beside his best friend joining him in his admiration of the panorama.
"Ahh! I knew it. I forgot to return to you your guitar."
He stood up and ran at their hide out. It was a small cabin made out of scrap woods and steel sheets. It was carpentered neatly, thanks to Yuuya's craftiness. Ayumu pulled out the guitar from a box. Enthusiastically he went to his closest friend.
"Here, your guitar. Thanks for letting me borrow it." He handed him the guitar.
"By the way, what took you so long?"
"Oh! Actually I'm composing something."
"Really? May I hear it?" he handed him back the guitar.
"Uhmm... I'm kinda shy about it."
"Oh come on. I'm your best friend. I won't laugh." He smiled at him.
Ayumu sat back beside him and start strumming the guitar.
Why can fate be so unfair?
Why can't you be always here?
In every moment that we're together
It feels like I could live forever
But I know... that things won't last
This feeling I know is killing me, telling you is a must
Yet still...
I don't know, this sorrow,
This heartbeat I felt is killing me
More than the dusk's melancholy
Coz' I know, I can't show
This feeling I have in this song
Loving you just felt so oh wrong
Because....
I am your best friend
But you are my special friend
And we're meant together just to be friends
Just friends
My Best Friend....
After the song, a deafening silence broke between them. Ayumu couldn't believe to himself that he had sung that song to the one he cherished the most. Yes, he cherished his best friend more than anyone, the reason why he rejects girls confessing to him, the reason why he doesn't want to accept any chocolates from admirers on valentines. Tears started to drip out from his bluish eyes. He couldn't hold it back. He couldn't even look at Yuuya straightly after he expressed the melody of his heart.
"Have I told you that I like you?" Yuuya's mild voice sliced the silence. He caressed with his hand his best friend's hair down to his nape.
"I like the golden color of your hair. It may seem dyed but I know it is natural, and it's most beautiful during the sunset." He continued. Then, he slowly slid his palm to his cheek. Ayumu blushed. His heart beat faster as he felt the fingertips of his buddy caressing his face. He slowly turned his glance to him.
"Yu... Yuuya?" Yuuya touched his lips to silence him.
"Ayumu... I love everything about you, your lips, your eyes, everything. And yes, I love you too, my best friend."
Ayumu hugged Yuuya tightly. He couldn't believe what his beloved had said. Is this a dream? Yet he could feel that he hugged him back. How he wished such moment would last, but no. As he opened his eyes, Yuuya was nowhere to be found. It was just a dream after all.
Suddenly his phone rang. It was a text message, from a friend. His eyes widened as he read the message. The plane that Yuuya rode crashed and no one survived. At that moment he realized that the person he was with a while ago is indeed his beloved, his ghost.

Wow! I'm such a terrible person! I shipped two real guy friends... :P Anyway, I'm just doing this for fun since I'm bored. By the way, our first album titled "Message" is coming out this March! I hope it would sell out! Sakura Gakuin had done our best to make the album. Thanks also to the staffs for making it possible. I hope the Fukei-sans would be kind to us and buy a lot of CDs and DVDs! =D
Anyway speaking about that album, one of my unforgettable moment in the making of that is the photo shoot taking for its cover. In one of the shoot, we are asked to bring up our most cherished possession. Of course I brought my own personal okonomiyaki spatulas. I used to bring that for okonomiyaki emergencies. Gosh I really love that grilled delicacy and I love cooking it my own. Anyway, the other girls also bring their own, like Ayami bringing her playing cards and Moa bringing her guitar. I think I'm the only one bringing weird stuffs... hehehehe
Anyway so long my dear diary.... Until then!
Love,
Berlin Su
