"Don't touch anything in my-uurh garage. It's kind of like my castle, th-brhhe- that and it's really easy to blow up the whole house if- if if you don't- you dunno what you're doing."

Now that I'm seeing the garage in person, I could see a lot of dangerous looking tools on the shelf and other stuff that you just can't see from the show. "I don't doubt it, Rick." I said it casually, but after a moment it gave me chills. I say Rick a lot when I talk about the show, but it's never a weird thing; not until I say it to the actual Rick himself. I step inside and I can see Jerry hugging Summer.

"Bye, Dad." She said, only somewhat sympathetic. When he let go, she instantly turned on her phone.

"Oh..! Morty, you're back! I was just, uh, getting a few more things before I..." Jerry sighed and walked up to Morty to give him a hug. "And you brought back Rick and uhh.."

"Oh, uh, w-well this is... This is _." Morty said, I could feel that he was holding himself back from saying something.

"And _ is..?"

"She's staying here for a few nights." Rick butted in, hoping that him talking would make Jerry want to end the conversation. But Jerry continued to talk, anyways.

"Oh. What for?" Morty looked really nervous. It's okay Morty, I got this. I'll sugar coat it for you.

I answered Jerry, "Well, Morty-"

"_ is my girlfriend a-a-aaand w-we're just gonna be doing, uh.." Um... WHAT?

"Okay, I don't really need to know what a couple of-"

"L-l-l-like, you know- you know, like, some really freaky st-"

"Okay, okay. That's.. great, Morty."

"Like, really hardcore, messy, just- just down to the bone, bad, bad business in my room."

"Morty!" I bursted. I, although a bit uncanny for me, played along for his sake. I know it's.. Jerry- but a boy wants to make his father proud. If that's the kind of thing that Morty thinks would make his dad proud. God, he needs help. "I don't really think it's appropriate to tell your dad- or your mom, for God's sake- what kind of things we're going to be doing alone."

"Y-yeah, alone. In my bedroom. And when it's late."

"Morty, oh my God, please." I clenched my teeth in agony, realizing meeting the characters of my favorite show comes with its downsides. Morty, what the Hell?

"Okay. Well, nice meeting you." Jerry picked up a box and said, "I've got to get going now."

He stepped outside and Rick rolled his eyes as he shut the door.

"Dad?" I heard Beth say. She walks in from the kitchen. "Oh, who's this?"

Morty was about to talk but I stopped him out of fear of what could come out that mouth this time. "Well, Rick and Morty are friends of mine who recently found out about my," I cleared my throat, and acted as best as I could. "..Home situation. It's not safe in there, and like a saint your son offered me a roof to sleep under for the next few days." Hopefully that wasn't too much..?

She held a hand to her chest. "Aww, my little man is such a gentleman. I'm so sorry to hear that. We're just about to have dinner, please, come eat with us."

"I'd be delighted." I say to get on her good side. I really want the family to open up to me because if I'm dreaming it better be a damn good dream.

I sit down and Beth repeats my lie to Summer, even though it didn't really seem like Summer was paying attention. Beth brought out the dishes and we began to eat. "Is the food okay? Can I get you anything?"
