It's Friday evening, which means it's been two days since I got back home. Though, I suppose it doesn't mean much, seeing as I still haven't done anything except for the necessities. I was still on my back, letting grease build up on my hair, and lazily drinking the vodka I stole while my other hand is flipping through channels. I turned the TV off when I reached Cartoon Network.

I sighed and put my hand over my eyes. It was then that I felt all the grime on my face. Then my hand, my arm, the skin under shirt.. I felt disgusting. I stumbled to the mirror in my bathroom and disappointed myself with my reflection. I still had the bottle of hard liquor in my hand, so I put it down. That wasn't all; I looked dirty, my hair is oily, but at least my constant napping made sure I didn't have dark eyes. I'm a mess, and it's because I can't let go of what happened. There were problems living with them, but it was still a dream come true.. And I want to go back so bad, so why don't I??

I went into my room and grabbed the towel on top of my new dresser and headed to the shower. Stepping in the hot water, I felt thoughts flowing in. I knew why I wasn't going back, but I was too stubborn to get over it. If I went back, then Rick would see that I really am just an ordinary fan, and that no matter what he says to does to trick me I'll always come back. I don't want to lose to him, but I still feel bad. Morty and Summer weren't assholes; they were actually pretty nice to me, and they saw me as their friend. Maybe I should drop by, tell them that it's time for me to leave..

I turn the water off and dry myself off. I go to my room, lazily putting on clothes: underwear, bra, pants-

I heard a portal open and jumped in surprise.

"Huh. This is the second time we meet like this." He referred to my half-nakedness nonchalantly, taking a swig from his canteen.

I couldn't believe it: Rick came to me. His pride must not be important in this situation. I growled, "What the fuck do you think you're doing here?"

He sighed. "It's Thanksgiving, and my grandkids won't shut up about you."

"Oh, right. Why would I expect to be about you?"

"I hope you're not gonna be like this at the table. C'mon, let's get going."

"I didn't say I was going."

"You're not?"

I looked away from him, sighing because he knew I wouldn't hurt their feelings. "Just give me a minute, I need to find clothes."

"God, so like another twenty minutes?" I rolled my eyes at his words. "You know what, don't even answer. I'll be back in twenty." And with that, I used my time wisely. I changed from jeans to a navy skirt embroidered with pearls and put on and a dusty rose turtleneck. I decorated myself in a white bangle to match my white stacked booties and a metal accent of a simple golden chain necklace adorning a simple black bead. Just as I added the last touch, Rick opened a portal in my room. "God, are you still not done?"

"I am." I simply replied. I wasn't going to let his sour attitude ruin Thanksgiving. I hopped to the other side of the portal. Summer and Morty both shouted my name and ran up to give me a hug. "Hey guys. Uh, sorry for leaving without-"

Summer waved it off. "Grandpa Rick already told us, save the explanation."

"What did he tell you?" I asked in suspicion.

"Just that you were too emotional to say goodbye. And even though you're an asshole for not letting me know, I get it, and I forgive you." Her grandmother called her over and so she walked away. Rick took the opportunity to go back to the dinner table.

Morty asked me, now that it was just us, "That's not the real reason, is it?"

I was shocked. I hope Morty doesn't know anything. "Uhh.." Is all I could mutter out.

"It's because of something that Rick did, isn't it?"

"I... Well, a bit, yeah. But I had to leave sooner or later, Morty." I don't want to end up saying something I shouldn't have, so I made the conversation end. "We should probably go to the table now, don't you think?" And so I went before Morty could answer.

We sat across from each other, and Summer was next to Jerry, and they were between Rick and I.

Seeing as my return was a bit unexpected, I took the stretch to let it be known by Beth that I appreciate letting me come back. "Thank you for allowing me to be here, especially after leaving without a word."

"Oh, _, it's fine. I'm just grateful you're here." Beth passive aggressively noted, "Besides, my dad left me for twenty years."

I cleared my throat, "Well, the food looks great, Beth.."

After we had eaten a bit, conversation picked up. Jerry had asked his mom where her boyfriend was. She replied with a story of how his parents didn't like him being with a woman that's so much older than him. "But thinking about it now," she added, "it really was a ridiculous relationship. I mean, we're almost fifty years apart!"

I glanced at Rick, wondering if we would be an unacceptable couple, and to my surprise he was already looking at me. I was almost scared that he was, although I can't tell why. I looked away, not wanting to make eye contact, and I saw that Morty was looking at me suspiciously. What's gotten over him?

The rest of that dinner was mainly quiet. I followed Rick into the living room afterwards, so he could send me back home. Sure, I could use the portal gun, but I don't want him to know that I've got it.

"So, _, my grandkids are.. They want you to stay." Something didn't seem right when he told me, plus, Morty wasn't making me feel welcomed.

I crossed my arms and interrogated, "They want me to stay?"

"I didn't miss you, you know."

I smiled. "Of course."

He smiled back. "Welcome back, _." He walked to his room.

I turned around to tell Morty and Summer I decided to stay, but Morty was already right here. His face told me that he was ready go all out with his words. Despite him being clearly angry, I tried to act cool. "Hey, Morty, I-"

"So that's why you left."
