The Emmerdale massacre

Chapter Six

TRACEY POV

I was putting away the newspapers and I read Hit and Rub on the front of it. "Wonder who done it, Emmerdale isn't a safe place anymore."
"Oh I know don't know who to trust." Replies David. Then I notice a bandage on his hand.
"What happened?" I ask pointing to his hand.
"Oh that it's nothing I cut it, I was collecting the delivery yesterday and I cut it in broken glass. They bandaged me up, that's why I was so late last night. I forgot to tell you."

"Okay that's great news thanks." Ronnie says walking in on the phone.
"Hi Ronnie, do you know anything about the hit and run yet?"
"No not yet, but they just told me they found the car there going to find out who's now."
"That's great news." I reply
"Erm, I need to go to the bathroom I'll be back in a minute." David said going into the back.

JIMMY POV

I hear a knock at the door and I go and answer it, it's the police. "Hello can we come in?"
"Okay." I let them in and tell them to sit down. "What would you like officer?"
"Can you tell me what you were doing at 10 o'clock last night?"
"I was looking after the kids while Nico was out. "
"Okay and where was your car? "
"I lent it to Rodney, my wife's dad. He was going to the barbers to put extensions in his hair, he likes long hair you see."
"Thanks Jimmy. Do you know where we can find Rodney?"
"Try the pub."
"Thanks for your time Jimmy." They leave and I go back to sleeping.

RODNEY POV

I walk into the pub with my new hair and sit with Nico. Shortly after the police walking in and want to ask me and Nico questions. Chas lets us go into the back for more privacy. "What's this about?"
"Can you tell me where you were last night around 10pm?"
"I was with Nico my daughter wasn't i." I look towards Nico hoping she agrees.
"Yeah he was why?"
"Just Jimmy's car was the one used in the hit and run and he told us you had it. Is this correct?"
"Well I did have it until it got stolen around 6pm yesterday. I just got back from my hairdresser, I parked the car outside and when I went back to it at six and it was gone."
"Why didn't you phone the police?" The officer asked.
"Because I wanted to tell Jimmy before I phoned them. I was also out last night looking for it but I gave up and came to the pub met up with Nico."
"Thank you that's everything."
"No problem."

NICO POV

I knew something was wrong because he wasn't with me last night but I don't want to get him into trouble so I went along with it. When the police left we went back into the front of the pub and sat down. "What was that about. Why did you make me lie?"
"I didn't want you to find out like this."
"Find out what?" I ask.
"Nothing."
"Dad tell me, or I'll tell the police." I lied.
"Okay fine. Yesterday I was planning you  a surprise birthday party that's why I said I was with you because I knew you would go along with it and you wouldn't find out. But now you have ruined it."
"Oh my god a surprise party, thank you."
"Now I also have to tell Jimmy about his broken car."
"I'll deal with him and i'll pretend like I don't know about this party. Goodbye dad."
"Goodbye." I go home and tell Jimmy about his car. He cries but I tell him to stop being a baby.
