((Akemi's POV))
I smiled as I watched Mukuro and Mondo hold Ayumi and Daiya. This is so wonderful, I thought. All of this beauty and hope. Those two...take away my fear and despair. They turn it into hope...Hope to escape, and hope for a better future for them. Mondo smiled and hugged me, handing me back Ayumi. "We're parents," he said happily. "We finally...have a family." I smiled and nodded, hugging him and Ayumi both. Our beautiful moment was once again interrupted by...him.
Monokuma appeared out of nowhere, saw the kids, and faked a smile. "What's this? Babies? Aww, how cute!" He stumbled forward, reaching for them. Mondo suddenly stood between him and our babies. "Oh no you don't!" he said, spreading his arms protectively. I held Ayumi closer to me and protectively. "Why are you here, Monokuma?" I asked. "What do you want?" He smiled more. "It's nothing...I'm just here to..." He paused and, before any of us could stop him, grabbed Daiya from Mukuro. "Do this!" Monokuma said, holding him.
I gasped "Daiya!!!!" I yelled. Daiya cried loudly and reached out for me and his father. Monokuma laughed, keeping a firm hold on Daiya. I stood up, keeping Ayumi close to me. "Don't hurt him!" I begged. "Please...He's just a baby! He hasn't done anything to you!" Monokuma smirked. "He hasn't, but you have!" he said. "But I'll keep him alive if you pay the price. I don't need to have to repeat myself on what that is!" I knew exactly what he meant. My life for Daiya's.
I looked down and handed Ayumi to Mondo. "Mondo...Protect her," I said. "And...protect Daiya too." Mondo shook his head. "No...I'm not letting you give up now! I'm...not giving up on us!" he yelled. "We don't have a choice...Daiya will die if we don't!" I said. Mondo frowned, not liking what I said. I gave him a look that said, "Relax, I have a plan." and walked up to Monokuma.
"You've beaten me," I said. Monokuma smirked. "Giving up so quickly?" I shook my head. "No. Not giving up. Doing what I can to protect my child. That's what any mother with a heart and common sense would do," I said. I watched as Hiro sneaked up behind Monokuma, holding a metal pipe. Monokuma smirked. "Okay then! Follow m-!"
He was cut off as Hiro swung the jagged end of the metal pipe toward Monokuma. It hit home quickly, severing Monokuma's head. Before his body fell, I grabbed Daiya and held him close, protecting him. Mondo rushed to my side immediately. "Is he okay?!" he asked. I nodded and calmed Daiya as he cried. "He's fine. A little shaken up, but he'll be fine," I said.
Mondo sighed with relief and smiled. "That's good." He turned to Hiro. "Hey, Yasuhiro. Thank you for saving Daiya," he said. "Good job." Hiro smiled and rubbed the back of his neck. "It was nothin'. I couldn't let the little guy get hurt," he said. Mondo nodded and gave him a thumbs-up, which Hiro returned.
I held Daiya close and smiled. "Shh...It's okay, Daiya. It's okay," I said. Mondo looked at what remained of Monokuma. "I assume we'll see him again soon?" he asked. I looked from him, to Daiya and Ayumi. "I'm scared. For Daiya and Ayumi," I said. "Scared that Monokuma will return, find them, and..." I trailed off.
Mondo hugged me. "I am too," he said. "But we need to do something." "But what?" I asked. Mondo smiled. "Well, first off...I have an idea," he said. "Follow me." I nodded. "Okay." Mondo went into the storage room and grabbed some lumber before heading into our room.
I was confused. "What are you doing?" I asked. Mondo placed the lumber on the ground. "I'm going to build the twins a crib. They can't lay in our bed. There isn't enough room," he said. "This way, we can give them somewhere to sleep." I smiled and nodded. "Sounds like a plan to me," I said. Mondo smiled and started to build the crib. I nodded and played with Daiya and Ayumi while he worked on it.
-Time Skip-
Mondo smiled and wiped the sweat from his brow as he finished the crib. "All done," he said. I smiled as I looked at it. It was a beautiful shade of blue and was big enough to place the twins in together. I smiled. "Perfect." Mondo blushed and smiled. "Really?" I nodded. "Really." Mondo smiled and together we watched as the twins slept peacefully. My resolve hardened as I looked at my babies. "We have to end this," I said. "Now that Junko knows about them, she won't stop until they're dead." Mondo nodded. "We have to stop her...And come out alive somehow," he said.
I looked at Mondo. "I'll go," I said. "I started this...I think it's time I ended it as well." Mondo shook his head. "No. You did everything you could to save me from my fate. From myself. It's about damn time I helped you too!" "I don't want you to die," I said. "Not again."
Mondo frowned. "And I don't want you to die either!" he argued. "The twins need their father," I said, trying desperately to get him to stay. "Maybe. But they need their mother too!" he argued. "But I-!" I protested. Mondo shook his head. "No buts about it!" he said, hugging me close. I hugged back. "Akemi..." Mondo said.
I looked up at him. "We need someone to look after the kids," I said. "Anyone can from the people we know and trust. Like bro, Mukuro, Sakura, Makoto, Hiro, or Hina," Mondo replied. "Mukuro, Taka, Sakura and Hina can," I said. Mondo nodded, agreeing with me. "This ends now," I said. Mondo nodded, looking at our kids. I did the same and smiled. Don't worry, you two. We'll defeat Junko and escape this hellhole. No matter what. I thought. I promise.
