"How are you getting home?" My mom asks as I apply my mascara in the mirror.

"Theo's driving me home"

"Ok. You'll call me if there's any problems right?"

"Yes mom, I'll be fine I promise" I assure her walking down the hall towards Kylie's room. I knock on the door lightly before entering. She hasn't left her room much since she's been staying.

"Hey Ky" I try to smile coming into her room. She doesn't reply or look at me.

"Theo invited me to a party, would you mind if I went?" I ask her.

"Why would I care?" She remarks harshly looking up at me.

"Just..just incase you need me" I reply looking at the floor.

"Go, I don't need you" She says and I just nod silently.

"I shouldn't be asking this, but..I..would you maybe like to come?"

"Really?" She scoffs.

"Sorry" I mumble leaving her room. The tension between is so bad right now.

"Hope, Theo is here" My mom calls from downstairs.

"Is that Hope Mikaelson?" He acts shocked to see me and I try to hide my blush. "My best friend is hot" He compliments making me blush even more and my mom laugh. I'm so bad at taking compliments.

"Have fun! And be careful!" My mom calls after us as we walk out of the compound together.

We get into Theo's car and he waits for me to put my seatbelt on before starting the car.

"Why isn't Harvey coming?" I ask him as he sings along to the radio.

"He said he's uh busy" Theo lies but I'm not even bothered to find out what it is he's lying about. Once again Harvey has just blanked me again. No calls, no text, nothing and I'm so done with it. We pull up outside the house of the party.

We're an hour late and the front lawn is already littered with drunken teenagers, red plastic cups and empty bottles of alcohol.

"Who's party is this again?"  I ask Theo as we're getting out of the car.

"A friend from school" He says as we walk up to the door together. The house is huge and overcrowded. Theo takes my hand as we walk inside. He leads me to the kitchen and we get our drinks.

"What are you having to drink?" He asks over the loud music.

"Umm whatever your having" I reply.

"We're doing shots first!" He smiles excited.

"Theo, I don't know" I hesitate.

"Too late, here's your shot" He slides me a small glass. I go against my better judgement and take it. At first it burns my throat but I like it. Four shots later and I feel completely at ease, a huge weight has just been lifted from my shoulders.

I reach for the bottle of vodka to pour us a fifth shot but Theo pulls it away. "Hope your alcohol tolerance isn't like mine, let's get you something else to drink" He says pulling me away from the counter top full of drinks.
