another day at starbucks.

A/N I am really so so so so sooooo sorry for not updated in absolute ages! School has been absolutely hectic, and i had somethings happen to me that has truly thrown me off... I am really sorry I seriously can't apologize enough. hopefully this chapter makes up for it, thank you I hope you enjoy! 

*Melody POV*

I woke up from a restless sleep and looked around the room i fell asleep in. i saw that the boys weren't here and got up to see if i could find them. i walked into the kitchen and found a note taped to the fridge. 

'Good morning Mel,

i got the boys up early and cooked you a breakfast all to your own so ou can finally enjoy a morning in peace. But don't fill up too quickly, we are all going to Starbucks! yayyyy! We all hope you had a good sleep and we'll see you soon. (we'll come passed and pick you up)

i laughed a little and shook my head at the name. i smell the breakfast that they cooked. i turned around and saw pancakes with icecream and maple syrup. how didn't i see this when i walked in? i sat down and ate my pancakes then went to go get ready, i just wore high waisted faded ripped jeans and a pastel pink shirt that said 'princess' in white at the front. Just as i finished brushing my hair the boys bursted through the door, once again. "hi Mel" they all said in unison. i laughed and say hi back and we were on our way to starbucks, where we first met... for them they think. 

we arrived at Starbucks and got in line. i started feeling an itching in my legs. i started shifting my weight from one foot to the other and started to fidget. "Mel, are you ok?" Niall asked noticed i was acting a bit uncomfortable. "yeah" i say simply and bite my lip. "are you sure? you look a bit nervous" he says asking again and now with all the boys eyes on my jittery self. "Yeah I'm sure Ni don't worry" i say giving them all a reassuring smile. "okay.." he says still a worried look on his face and puts his attention back on the menu above the counter. 

When a mermaid has been out of water for too long, they start to get sick, and uncomforable. i need to go and have a swim, but i'll wait until after.

it's our turn to order and we all take turns of asking what we want. we each got a white hot chocolate, a double choc chip muffin, and crossaints. we went to sit down at a table and talked about random stuff until our food came out. "14 crossaints, 6 white hot chocolates and 7 double choc chip muffins?" the waitress asked carrying all of our orders. "sorry we only ordered 12 crossaints and 6 muffins?" Zayn says and i see Niall looking guilty next to me "sorry" he says simply and we all laugh and take the order from the smiling waitress and gave a tip. we all eat our food in peace and quiet. 

We finished our food and brought our dishes up to the counter so theres less work for the employees, something my dad taught me to do when i was younger. we got out and i was aching to go and have a swim. "hey guys, you go back to my room and i'll meet you there i just have to do something" i say and Louis says "what are yo-" but was cut of by a slap upside the head from Zayn. "its ok Mel you go do what you have to do, we'll see you soon" he says and i look at them oddly, but turned and walked towards the beach anyway. 

10 minutes later, i arrive at a secluded part of the beach and double check that no ones around. i see or hear noting other than the waves crashing against the beach. i feel the sand between my toes and the wind blowing my hair. i miss the water. i miss my dad. i miss the ocean. i miss home. but I'm here. and honestly, it will be hard to go back. i remember i have to meet my brother today, but im just going to swim around first. i walk towards the water so my feet are just under and smile. the water feels so good. i start to walk further into the water until im shoulder deep. i smile and relax and i feel my legs transform into my tail that i love. i do a jump out of the water out of excitment and swin deeper into the ocean. i couldn't have a proper swim last time, my brother stopped me. but now i can enjoy the beautiful coral and the fish swimming effortlessly. i smile again and just swim.

about 30 minutes later i think that its time i go and look for my brother. i find him at the same place i left him and he swam quickly towards me and attacked me in hugs. "I miss you everytime you leave" he tells me "i miss you too" i say back. "when are you coming home?" he says and i look down. "i think in a few more days" i say "what's wrong?" he asks. "I'll miss it here. believe me i miss home tons but... it's just been amazing here. friends and legs... i don't know" i tell him and he gives me a look of sympathy. "I know Mel, but you have to come home sooner or later. Dads heartbroken and misses you so much. the castle and the kingdom haven't been the same without you" he explains. i sigh. "i know" i say. he looks at with sorry eyes and says "lets go for a swim and smiles at me. i smile back and nod, and off we went.

*Zayns POV (back at starbucks)*

we all finish our food and make our way outside. the silence was broken by Melody's voice. "hey guys, you go back to my room and i'll meet you there i just have to do something" thats perfect! we can se- my thoughts were cut off by louis "what are yo-" he starts to say but i slap him upside the head making him stop. he rubs his head and looks at me like saying 'what was that for?' "its ok Mel you go do what you have to do, we'll see you soon" i say ignoring louis's death stare. "okay" she says dragging out the word looking at us suspiciously and turns to walk off. when she's out of earshot louis turns to me and whisper-shouts "what was that for?!" "so we can follow her and see what she's up to remember??" i say and he gives a look of realisation. "ohhhhh" he says completely forgetting about it.

we follow he to the beach and she stands there for a bit, i think taking in the amazing scenery. she looks around for i think is the 4th time and doesn't see us hiding behind a giant rock, watching. she walks toward the water and sinks he toes in the wet sand under the water. it's kinda cute... as a brother way i swear! anyway, she walks about shoulder depth in the water and stands there for a few seconds, then dives under. we watch the spot where she dissaperas underwater for a few seconds longer and Melody jumps out the water... with a freaking mermaid tail. "oh my god..." i hear Harry say behind me. "i know" i say a bit frustrated and walk towards the direction of her room. 

"how couldn't she have told us?" i say getting more infuriated every second. the boys caught up and realised i was angry and tried to calm me down. she was already like a sister to me, why didnt she tell us? "mate, we're still pratically strangers to her, she didn't know what we'd do or how we'd react. most people would take her to the aquarium or a science lab or something! i think that she wanted to she just didn't know how" Niall said. i sigh, "i guess your right" i say in defeat. but it doesn't mean in still not irritated my the subject. we arrive at the room and wait for her to come back.

*Melody POV*

Aaron and I finish swimming around and we go back to where we met up. "I'll see you when you come home" he says and i nod. he kisses me on the forehead. "i love you mel-mel" i smile and say "i love you too" and kiss him on the cheek. i watch him swim back in the direction of the kindom until i can't see him anymore. i sigh and swim back to shore where i dry myself off. i walk back to my room and go in, exausted from all the swimming and walking. i turn around to see all the boys on the couch giving expecting looks. 

"care to explain?"
