Chapter One: Soaring First Day

Yo yo yo whats up :D First chapter! This story is going to switch from perspective to perspective guysssssss :D so please be careful about which perspective it is, whether it is Katy or Ross. It'll say at the beginning of each chapter :)

"Mom, it's okay! I can get to school by myself!" I gave her a timid smile as I put on my blazer.

"Okay, okay but you're spending your senior year in a different country in an entirely different continent so obviously I'm worried." She smiled and put both of her hands on my shoulders. "Good luck honey."

I gave her a wave as I opened the door and walked outside. Surprisingly, the high school I'm going to has uniforms so I have mine on in the refreshing weather of England switching from summer to fall. To endure the walk, I put in my earphones and listened to a playlist from a website. The song, along with the other hundreds of songs played on the piano was beautiful. I closed my eyes while walking and enjoyed the song played by 'R.K.' or my old childhood friend. I saw a couple of people around my age, who all had the same uniform as me. By that point, I either had to ask them where the school was or to ignore them. I chose to ask them so I took out my earphones.

"Oof, be confident Katy. C'mon, you can do it." I mumbled to myself as I jogged the short distance to the group. They were laughing at something. "Hey guys! Do you know the direction to Fowles High?" I sort of just stood there as the students just stared at me, "Uhh.. Any answers?"

As I was opening my mouth to say something, one of the students turned on her heel and walked away. The rest of the group went along with her except for a girl with short red hair. She pointed towards the group of friends that just rejected my question and had an apologetic look on her face.

"I'm sorry about that. We're heading to the school right now so if you follow us, you'll end up there too. Oh, and I'm Zoe by the way." Zoe had a very strong accent but I guess everyone here does. She gave me a small smile and held out her hand.

I took her hand and shaked it, "I'm Katherine. Katy for short." I gave her a grin and let go of her hand so she could go back to her friends. "Well you should go back to them, see ya later?"

"See ya later!" Zoe then ran back to her group as I followed them a few steps behind to school.

I took out the paper listing all my classes and my locker combination and examined it. After wandering around, I eventually found my locker, but there was someone leaning next to it, kind of blocking the way. The guy was way taller than me and had black hair with red at the tips. He had greenish-grey eyes that was looking down at a phone in his hands.

"Hello." I directed at him. He wasn't responding at all, "Uh-"

"Hey," he looked up, "is this your locker?" The tall guy moved forward and nodded his head over to my locker, meanwhile the only thing I could pay attention to was his accent.

"Huh?" I looked at him with a blank face as he pointed to my locker. "Oh right, yeah. That's my locker." I gave him a small smile and unlocked the lock. Opening the locker, I put my earbuds back in and threw my backpack in the locker. I went and headed to class but gave the tall guy a small smile before I did.
