Honestly, I did not expect to meet Katherine once again. Right after I turned 12, my parents passed away. They died. I was then taken in by my aunt who was in her late 20's and moved back to Brighton. I was broken, scarred since then. I guess I'm still broken. When I was announced the news, I completely forgot of my best friend, Katherine. She was there for me until I left and I never contacted her. I was thinking about what had happened while brushing my teeth. I went back into my room and picked out a pair of shorts and a loose t-shirt. Heading back into the bathroom, I stripped and turned on the water.

"Dammit. Why did she have to show up now?" She was so fucking attractive too. Her short dark brown hair, soft blue eyes. I'm speechless. What I'm struggling with is, how come she's here? Did something happen?

When I finished showering, I grabbed a towel and dried off. I put on my clothes quickly and ran downstairs to get a water bottle. I didn't get to buy anything earlier since Katherine and I were talking for a while. I wonder how her sister was, Rosalyn? Us three were pretty good friends but Katherine and I were especially close. While opening my window to let the cool night air in, I noticed the house across the street. It was Katherine's house and all of the lights were off except for one which was on. I have no idea who's window it belonged to but it doesn't matter.

After a while of looking out the window, I saw a guy who looked a bit younger than me run towards the driveway of the Romero house with an expensive looking bike and a helmet. I opened my window wider and yelled.

"Hey, is that you Flynn?!" I cupped my hands around my mouth. The reaction of this kid was hilarious. He jumped up and turned towards my window and yelled back.

"I don't know who you are but it's late at night so don't yell!" There was a huge echo and we both started laughing. Before both of us got yelled at by the neighboring houses, Flynn went into his house while I shut the window.

Turning off the lights, I laid down onto my humongous bed and stared at the ceiling.

My alarm rang and rang and rang. I groaned. Great, another day. I stared out the window and looked at the clear blue sky. Suddenly, my phone buzzed and I picked it up. It was from Instagram giving me it's weekly list of people I should follow.

People You May Know

-Katy R. : Just a fellow human who loves piano and singing.

What a surprise, she seemed like someone who was private so I didn't expect her to have an Instagram. She had about 2k followers and I scrolled through her feed. I watched some of her videos and her voice is amazing. Almost clicking block, I followed her hoping to get a message. I looked through her pictures some more with pretty epic captions while getting ready for school. While driving to school, I stopped at a red light and noticed Katherine riding her bike on the left side of my car.

Rolling down the window, I said, "Hey! You need a ride?" She didn't seem to hear me and when the light turned green, she just kept biking.

When I got to school, I parked my car and went to catch up with her.

"Katherine! Hey wait!" Other students were staring since they probably haven't seen me chase after a girl before.

"Hmm?" she turned around and gave me a small smile. "Yeah?"

I stood there a little flustered. "Did you hear me earlier?" She nodded and shrugged.

"Safety on the road, I didn't want to get distracted. Do you need something?"

"I just wanted to see if you needed a ride, to and from school." I scratched my head and looked away.

"Yeah, I'll take that offer. Can my bike fit into your trunk?" I hadn't thought about that. I will make it work. I mean, I had to. Yesterday ended kind of abruptly.
