Stiles wakes up to his alarm clock blaring. He groans in annoyance before moving his hand around to silence the alarm. Once the alarm's buzzing is killed, Stiles slowly sits up and runs his eyes. He immediately checks his phone. No new messages from Scott, which is kind of disappointing, but there was one from Malia. Stiles opens the chat.
Malia: So, how's the secret admirer texting working out for you?
Stiles: Good, I think.
Malia: Am I going to get anything else?
Stiles: I opened up to him a bit.
Malia: About what?
Stiles: About my mother.
Malia: Oh, Stiles... You told him?
Stiles: Yeah. It kind of felt right.
Malia: I hope you made the right decision there. Remember, he's not one of us. He's a jock. He's popular. He's not invisible. He's not trampled on like we are.
Stiles: Scott's different, I swear. Besides, you can't help who you fall in love with, can you Malia?
Malia: What is that supposed to mean?
Stiles: I know that you like that girl Kira. Moved to the school last year, I think. One of Scott's best friends too.
Malia: What? How? I didn't tell you or Isaac anything!
Stiles: Please. I see the way you look at her as she walks down the halls. It's exactly how I look at Scott.
Malia: Please don't tell anyone about this, okay?
Stiles: Who is there to tell? I only talk to you and Isaac.
Malia: And Scott.
Stiles: That's different.
Malia: Is it?
Stiles: We only text! Scott doesn't even know the face to Stiles Stilinski.
Malia: Okay, fair point. But still. Don't tell anyone, okay? I know that I'm open about my sexuality, but I don't need the whole school to know that I like Kira. That might scare her off, if she heard those rumours.
Stiles: Don't worry, I've got your back, girl.
Malia: Thanks, Stiles.
Stiles: No problem, Mal. Anyway, I gotta get ready for school. I'll see you and Isaac there.
Malia: Alright, bye!
Stiles places his phone down again before he gets out of bed and stretches. He then quickly gets ready for the day. By the time he's ready for school, he looks down at his phone. It's 8:10am. He better hurry up if he doesn't want to be late. He rushes out to his beloved jeep, quickly jumps in, starts the engine and drives towards Beacon Hills High School. Once he's there, he finds an empty space and parks the jeep. He gets out and walks towards the school's main building. Of course, he has chemistry up first. At less that will get the test over and done with. Stiles has studied hard for this test. He wants a good grade. A perfect grade, if possible. Since he's not a very sporty person, nor does he think he's good looking, the only thing that Stiles has going for himself is his academics. Isaac and Malia's attitudes towards school are a little more laid back than Stiles'. They say he worries too much. Stiles disagrees. He calls it caring about his work. Stiles tried to get Isaac to study for this chemistry test, but failed dismally. Isaac hates chemistry. Although, that might be just due to the fact that Mr Harris is the teacher. Isaac does not get along with Mr Harris at all. Stiles walks into the main building, with only a few minutes to spare until first class.
He makes his way over to his locker, looking at the students all walking around him, not even acknowledging his existence. Stiles is okay with that. At least that means the kids won't pick on him for anything. Being invisible is better than being known for the wrong reasons. Unfortunately, Jackson and a few of the other lacrosse players seem to have taken a liking to him, which really sucks for Stiles. As he gets closer to his locker, Stiles sees someone that makes his heart jump. Scott is walking in his direction! Not that Scott knows that Stiles is there, of course. He doesn't know Stiles even exists. Stiles sneakily glances over at Scott, admiring him and wishing he had the courage to talk to him, but alas, Stiles was too scared. Why would the lacrosse captain ever spend time talking to a nobody? As Stiles looks away and continues to make his way towards his locker, he doesn't realize that Scott looks over at him for a moment, curiosity filling his eyes.
Had that boy been looking at him? Not that it matters, of course. Everyone stares at Scott McCall at some point or another. That's a part of being the captain of the lacrosse team, being in the popular crowd and being the school's favorite and most adored couple with Allison. Scott is surprised that him and Allison are favored over Jackson and Lydia, but those two are a close second. Still, Scott can't help but feel a little bit flattered. He can't even explain it to himself. The unknown boy had caught his attention amongst the crowd of hundreds of students. Everyone tries to talk to Scott, even if it is about random things that mean nothing, yet this guy didn't utter a single word to him. As if he doesn't want to be noticed. By this point, Scott had accidentally walked into someone, since he wasn't paying attention to where he was going and was staring at the mysterious teenager. "Hey! Watch it." A girl hisses at Scott.
"I'm sorry, I wasn't looking where I was going." Scott apologizes quickly to the girl.
"Yeah, I could tell." Malia rolls her eyes. She knows that Stiles has crush on this guy, but she really doesn't know why. He seems just like every other lacrosse player; full of himself and rude to anyone that is below him. She bends down and quickly picks up the books that Scott made her drop. "You jocks are all the same." She scowls before pushing past Scott and walks towards Stiles' locker to meet up with her friend.
Scott watches her with a little bewilderment. He quickly shakes his head and turns away from the girl and the mysterious boy, who appear to be friends. He starts walking to his first class, his mind filled with thoughts about Allison, lacrosse and the person he is talking to over text messages, all thoughts of the boy and girl at the lockers forgotten. They had passed by him only fleetingly, never to be thought of again. Well, that's what Scott assumed anyway.
