Aubrey
"Say my name, say my name. Cause those other men are practice, and this ain't no time for actin'. And this ain't no time for games. And this ain't no time for uncertainty. And this ain't no time for lockin' your phone and not comin' home and startin' some shit when I'm in the zone. This-"
"Aubrey?" That same small, angelic voice spoke, causing me to stop singing as I was picking up some things in the room I was staying in. She stretched her arms outwards and yawned, showing her tousled hair.
"Good morning." I smiled, throwing one of my shirts into the hamper by the bathroom door.
"Morning." She returned the smile, standing up and walking out the doorway. The sleeves of her shirt hung down past her hands, covering them, and her petite body walked into her room. I felt so anxious to give her the surprise I had for her... She had no idea what it was. Not even the slightest clue. She probably thought it was a puppy or a necklace or something... One of those ordinary gifts.
I jogged downstairs to find Shay popping a strawberry into Ryan's mouth, giggling.
"Gross." I pretended to gag and threw a towel at Ryan.
"What are we doing today?" He asked, pulling Shay to his side.
"I was gonna see if Jhene wanted to go out and have a girls today with me and let you guys go out and do your own thing." Shay spoke up, and it sounded like a nice idea. Both Ryan and I nodded in acceptance, then Shay walked past us and upstairs.
Once she was gone, Ryan raised his brows at me, expecting some sort of explanation for something that I had no clue about. Once he got the idea that I was clueless, he spoke up, "What's up with you and Jhene?" Of course.
"She's cool." I chuckled.
"Cool my ass. You guys together or what, man?"
"Shut the fuck up and let your girlfriend feed you fucking strawberries, man." I chuckled, patting his back.
"Fine, you don't have to admit it. But 50 bucks, you'll be with her no longer than a month."
"Bet." We shook hands.
Jhene
Shay had invited me to go out for lunch and get mani-pedis which was a great chance to get to know her better and to get away from the guys for a little while.
"I love it here." She looked over from the chair where we were getting pedicures in.
"It's beautiful." I smiled and replied.
"So what's going on between you and Aubrey?" She giggled.
"Nothing at all." I laughed back, knowing she would bring this up. "We're friends"
"Bullshit, what's really going on?" She raised her brows in disbelief. "Have you slept with him?"
My eyes widened when she asked that. We were out in public and there were people right in front of us, and she openly asked with no hesitation. "No." I nervously laughed, hoping people weren't staring.
"What about a date?"
"Once. Well, not really a date. Just dinner."
"That counts as a date. Did he kiss you?"
"Not on the date."
"So he did before?" She raised her brow. Aubrey never really did, but it was close a few times when we went into the studio and the room where he had the hookah pipes that was right beside the studio.
