Yugyeom wanted to jump from the top of the Target building.

It was a little past eleven p.m and the tall brunette was sitting on the steps outside of the main doors to the store, his face buried in his hands. The bag he had brought with him was flung down to the side.

In his first few hours on the job, he had met six weird people, all of whom he barely saw for the rest of the day. After that, he got stuck helping an old lady who didn't understand jack shit about anything more upgraded than a Nokia flashlight. That took up about two hours.

The rest of the day was spent behind the counter in the electronics department, where he sat and put price tags on phone cases. Really ugly phone cases.

Now he was outside, worn out and ready to go home, waiting for his ride to come pick him up.

Just then, he heard the automatic doors open behind him, followed by the random chatter of some other employees.

"I'm just saying that if fish can swim naked then why can't I, hm?"

"Do you just have your brain set to stupid all the time?"

"No, I have it set to W for wumbo."

"I'm gonna do a wumbo on your ass if you don't-"

"Oh, hey, it's that new guy!"

Yugyeom turned around as they mentioned him, only to be met with six pairs of eyes staring back.

Not these guys again, was his first and only thought before they started talking once more.

"Oh, yeah!" one of them said. His name was Jackson, Yugyeom remembered that much. He had his hands shoved in the pockets of his khaki pants, his bag slung over his shoulder, but quickly moved to take a seat beside Yugyeom on the steps. "How was your first day, Yugioh?"

"It's Yugyeom, and my day was shitty," Yugyeom mumbled, resting his chin in his hand as the others came closer to him. "I mean, how does someone not know the difference between local-area network and wide-area network? I had to explain that like fifty times to just one person!"

The place got silent for a bit since the others had no clue what this boy was talking about. Jinoung mouthed a 'what the fuck?' to Jaebum, who just shrugged in return.

"Well," Jackson spoke again, breaking the slightly awkward silence, "welcome to the real world. It sucks. You're probably gonna want to kill yourself but, hey, you get paid!" He pat Yugyeom on the back. The younger only frowned.

"Look, let's face the facts," another one spoke up, that one being Bambam if Yugyeom remembered correctly. He couldn't forget actually; this guy had been all over him from the minute they met.

"Working here is just overall shitty," Bambam continued. "Target is like a giant, annoying mosquito bite. It's like shampoo that gets into your eye when you're trying to properly wash your hair so it looks bomb as fuck the next day-"

"Get to the point before the end of this week, please," Mark said blankly, scrolling through his phone mindlessly.

"My point is that Target sucks so lets go get wasted!" Bambam shouted, pumping a fist in the air. Nobody agreed with him.

"No, that's not the point," Jinyoung said, waving Bambam off. "The actual point is that you're here already, so stop being a little bitch." He then looked at the others. "Can I fucking go home now?"

"Don't mind Jinyoung, he has a really bad temperament when he's tired...which is all the time," Youngjae said, laughing nervously as Jinyoung glared at him.

"I've noticed," Yugyeom replied before having to duck to avoid the empty water bottle Jinyoung threw at him.

"Aren't you gonna go home?" Mark asked, looking up from his phone screen and at Yugyeom. "Do you plan to sleep out here?" Mark then gasped in a joking manner. "Are you one of those homeless guys we have to run out of the parking lot every Thursday morning?"

"Um, no," Yugyeom said. "I'm waiting for my mom-"

"Your mom? How old are you, three?" Jaebum said, laughing slightly at his joke when no one else would. Well, Youngjae laughed, but that was out of pity.

Yugyeom just sighed, hoping his ride would be here soon to save him from this hell.

She finally came at twelve, the bright headlights of her white SUV nearly blinding everyone and causing Bambam to fall over since she drove in at such an alarming speed.

"Oh, my poor baby!" she shouted from the front seat, looking out the open window of the car. "I sort of fell asleep and forgot that I had to- oh, who are these young men? Why is that one on the floor?"

Yugyeom got up from his place on the steps, grabbing his bag and hopping in the passengers seat. "My coworkers," he mumbled, looking down and trying not to make eye contact with them anymore. It's not that he hated them, he just found them so weird.

"Please take good care of my Yugyeommie!" his mother shouted out to the other six, making them snicker at the nickname his mother used.

"Can we leave please?!" Yugyeom screeched, causing his mom to step on the gas pedal out of surprise and go speeding off, leaving the other six in their dust.

That was the last they ever saw of Yugyeommie...at least for that night, that is.
