AFTER MEETING REBECCA, everything seemed perfect

AFTER MEETING REBECCA, everything seemed perfect. Her grades were looking up, she had a new best friend, and she was finally starting to get over the little crush that she had on Scott McCall... slightly. Well, it was a work in progress.

Though, Colton was fairly certain that Beacon Hills was a beacon for disasters (see what she did there?). Over the past few days, or week if she wanted to be technical, there had a series of unfortunate events: Mr. Lahey, Isaac Lahey's father, had been murdered with Isaac being a murderer, something strange was going on with Lydia Martin, who she had become closer to over the pass few days, and Eric Reyes seemed to come back to school better than ever like she ran the place, and there had been another murder not that long ago.

Colton pitied her father, him being a police officer, as she knew that the police were trying figure out the patterns and hidden motives behind all of the murders, but they were hitting a dead end if her father's drinking told her anything.

And then it was back to her. Colton hadn't been feeling like herself ever since she got to Beacon Hills. It was like.. something was changing within her and she was becoming more aware and guarded than she had ever been before. Especially around Scott McCall. Colton wasn't one to judge people based on something about them, but Scott gave her chills and not the good kind. Everytime she ended up around him she had a certain urge to do something; the only real problem with this was that she didn't know what she wanted to do.

And she was pretty afraid to find out.

"Colton, need I remind you that we have class in a few minutes and I would love to keep my perfect attendance up."

She rolled her eyes as she turned to the redhead in front of her, smiling Lydia as the girl gave her a scolding look with her hands on her hips. Man, Lydia had the older sister/mom look down to a T.

"I think that was ruined when you decided to take a trip through the woods a few weeks ago." Colton giggled as she received a teasing glare from the smart girl in front of her. To others it may have seemed like she hit too far below the belt with that comment, but in all reality her, Lydia, and Rebecca had a whole different kind of humor from others. They could take out as much as they dished.

"Touché."

Both girls giggled and rushed to Chemistry where they already saw Rebecca waiting for them with a small wave. Colton waited for Lydia to pick a seat first before she followed and sat in the seat next to her.

What happened next was something that she'd never forget. Not even when she's old and gray.

As soon as she sat in the seat, it felt like she had been punched in the face by Mike Tyson twenty times as she felt herself fall off the seat. Colton barely registered the startled cries of her classmates as everything became too loud, as the smell of spice and summer days filled her nostrils, or even as she felt herself sink into fight or flight mode as a hand went to touch her.
