SCHOOL PASSES HER BY IN A blur and Colton just wants to go home by the time the last bell rings. She had seen McCall take the brunette girl from Chemistry into a classroom with him seconds ago and it didn't take a rocket scientist to know what they were going to do.

She shouldn't be so upset. It wasn't like Colton was dating him! Hell, she didn't even know his first name and she was just the new girl. Still, she did want to have hope that she could actually have a crush that worked out. Colton sighed and slammed her locker, leaning her forehead against.

"... Are you ok?"

Colton peeked from her brown tresses to see a blonde, skinny, white boy looking down at her with a camera in hand. He seemed to be trying to fight off a blush and Colton internally groaned as she realized that he might have a crush on her. Trust her to have someone else like her when SHE likes someone else. How fitting.

"I'm fine," Colton said and lifted her head to stare at him, "thanks for asking though."

"It's no problem. It's just.. I hate seeing pretty girls looking down in the dumps. Doesn't suit you at all."

Colton had to admit; that made her actually blush a bit. A little smile appeared on her face. Maybe he wasn't so bad?

"I'm Colton. Colton Battermen." She stuck out a hand to shake and he shook it with the pale hand that wasn't gripping his camera.

"Matt Daehler." He introduced with an awkward smile as he let her hand slip from his grasps slowly.

"Soo," Colton stressed, "you like photography?" She remembered how her birth mother loved to take pictures as well before she passed. Colton, while never having a thing for being pictures, could appreciate a good photo.

"Uh, yea. I love it! It's a nice activity, actually it's all I mostly do." Matt rubbed the back of his neck and Colton found it kind of cute. Hmm, maybe it wouldn't be so bad if he had a crush on her. It was worth a shot seeing as McCall would definitely never like her back. Crushes come and go, after all.

She went to say something when the bell rang and Colton turned to see that the boy looked a bit put out at them being interrupted.

"Well, there goes the bell. I'll see you later, Matt!" She exclaimed as she shouldered her bookbag and patted the photographer on the shoulder and then scurried off to her last class of the day: Theatre.

Yea, she was a Drama Geek and proud of it as well. There was no class she loved more than Theatre. Unless you counted Chorus, but Colton was NOT gonna get into the little rivalry that all the Performing Art groups were in. She had just gotten to the school and even she could see the deep hate the groups felt for one another. It was like the Cold War all over again.

Her Theatre teacher, Mrs. Pratt, was a short, petite, redheaded woman that Colton knew that she was gonna like from the start. She was kind and, though she took the Theatre seriously, was not as strict as Colton thought she would be. The woman treated her students like they were her kids and was very understanding.

"Welcome to Beacon Hills, honey! Glad to have a new little actress on the scene!" Mrs. Pratt's voice was small and soft, but carried a motherly tone with it. It eased Colton's nerves and had her warming up to the woman in seconds.

"Thank you, I'm glad to be here." Colton smiled down at the short woman and wasn't surprised to have Mrs. Pratt smile back up at her.

"Well now, come sit in one of the chairs!" Did Colton forget to mention that they had class in the auditorium? Well, yeah, they did. And it was a nice auditorium at that, very different from the small and dirty one back at her old school.

Colton looked around and saw a couple of the kids in class staring her down and she felt a lump in her throat form. Being stared at just made her so nervous! She couldn't handle attention well.

When she spotted a familiar blonde head, Colton almost cried in relief as she made her way over to the blonde girl from Chemistry. The girl didn't even lift her head up from her phone as she planted herself right beside her and sat up in her seat awkwardly. The girl was so quiet, almost as if she were just a ghost. Even when attendance was called all Mrs. Pratt did was look in their direction to check if the girl was there and then went back to calling  names.

It was honestly a bit creepy since when the blonde wasn't looking at her phone she was staring at the ceiling like it was the most interesting thing in the world.

"If you have something to say then say it."

Colton almost jumped ten feet in the air as the blonde's blue eyes gazed at her and she lowered her head down as the girl gave her a blank look. Her heart was beating fast as her nervousness caught up with her. Honestly, Colton was just curious about her. She practically screamed with mystery and Colton intended to figure the girl out.

So, with that as her resolve, Colton lifted her head and turned to the blonde with a determined expression and raised her hand in the girl's face.

"I'm Colton Battermen and I want to be your friend." There it was. Short, sweet, and simple.

The blonde girl gave her a long look─she was obviously sizing Colton up─and after a few minutes, the blonde smirked and grabbed her hand in a firm grip.

"I'm Rebecca. Rebecca Moss, pleased to meet you, Battermen."
