"I was fine, just a guy living on my own,
Waiting for the sky to fall.
Then you called and changed it all, doll."
You brushed back your hair as you stepped out of the car and into the warm spring breeze.Spinning your car keys around your finger, you locked it behind you and made your way into the large store in front of you.
Adjusting your uniform a bit, you clocked in and slid behind the front counter right in front of the register.
You had just moved to Iwatobi, due to your parents constant work requirements, and quickly acquired a job at the local clothing store. Or actually, you had just moved back to Iwatobi.
You spent most of your childhood in that town and made a lot of great friends/memories, but alas you had to move around your tenth birthday.
Upon moving back you reconnected with most of your childhood friends, with the exception of a few.
"Have a nice day" you spoke in a happy voice along with adding a happy smile to the customers you had just checked out.
You watched as they took their bags and began to walk out. Letting out a quiet sigh, you quickly straightened up upon seeing another customer approaching the customer.
"Hello! Did you find everyt-" you paused mid sentence and looked closely at the male in front of you.
He seemed confused as you did and raised an eyebrow, a lock of his red hair falling in front of his eye.
"Do we know each other?" You asked, quizzically.
The guy shrugged and pushed his items onto the counter. As you began scanning them he finally spoke.
"You do look familiar"
Raising up your head, you made a face as you searched in the back of your mind for his name.
"Wait," you paused for a moment "Rin?"
You tilted your head a bit to the side, examining him. He'd grown up quite a bit, but of course that's what time did.
"You know my name?" He asked as he swiped a card.
Frowning a bit, you nodded.
"Yeah, of course I know your name. I'm Y/N. Remember?"
You noticed something flicker through his eyes, yet you couldn't quite tell what it was.
"Doesn't ring a bell" he muttered before grabbing his bag and walking out.
"You fooled me once with your eyes, now, honey,
You fooled me twice with your lies, and I say,"Rin groaned and ran a hand through his hair as he entered his dorm, throwing down the bag of items he had just purchased.
"Why did she have to come back?" He asked himself before sitting down on his bed and placing his head in between his hands.
He didn't want to be mean at the store, but he just didn't want to go through the pain of being hurt again.
Whenever you left, you left him behind and it hurt him. Not that you could stay or change what happened, but Rin was of course upset. Even at such a young age Rin knew he loved you. And now with you back, all the feelings Rin had fought to suppress were floating back up to the surface.
"Who came back?" A deep voice asked from the corner of the room.
Rin jumped and snapped his head over to see Sousuke, sat on the couch. He hadn't noticed him.
"No one" Rin sighed before walking out of the dorm, once again.
"Velvet lips and the eyes to pull me in.
We both know you'd already win.
Mm, your original sin."You couldn't help but feel sad at your old friend's reaction. I mean you two were really close, and yeah it had been a long time, but how could he forget so easily?
During work your sister had to come get your car so she could go somewhere, leaving you to have to walk home. At least it allowed you time to clear your mind.
The sun had began to sat, so you stopped for a moment just to admire the warm array of colors in the sky.
Just as you stopped another person did as well, apparently you both had the same spot in mind. Bumping into the figure, you stumbled back.
You looked up and began to apologize when you noticed who it was. Rin.
Of course. How many people were in this town again?
"Sorry" you sighed and turned around, beginning to walk the other direction.
"Y/N?"
Turning around, you noticed Rin was now looking you dead in the eyes. It actually sort of intimidated you.
"So you do know my name" you said and crossed your arms.
Rin sighed and nodded, looking like a child who had just been scolded.
He explained nearly everything, the words escaping his lips like a waterfall.
You couldn't help but smile at the male in front of you. His behavior reminded you exactly just like he acted, nearly ten years prior.
"I'll make it up to you" you spoke softly, taking his hand and dragging it along with you.
Sarah smiles like Sarah doesn't care,
She lives in her world, so unaware.
Does she know that my destiny lies with her?__________________
