I say goodbye to Levi and walk down to my bedroom in the basement. I don’t really like coming down here much, I usually just stay in Levi’s room. My shoes make muffled sounds every time I take a step. I turn into my dimly lit room and begin to put my maneuvering gear straps on. It’s taking longer than usual as my hands are still shaking with the memory of my own father, ordering for me to be tortured.

Footsteps echo down the corridor as heichou steps through the open door. He watches me struggle with the straps for a moment before coming over and kneeling before me. He swiftly adjusts the straps and is finished in seconds. Once he’s done, he stands up and hugs me. I hug him back. We don’t need words to communicate any more, we can tell what the others feeling or thinking just by looking at them. I grin into Levi’s hair, he can be so caring when he wants to be.

“Come on brat we have to go to training,” Levi says, his voice smothered by my shoulder. My face lights up at the mention of training and I, (for the second time today) grab his hand and drag him up multiple staircases until we reach the castles courtyard. I pull him across the paved area, as he just scowls at my antics. When we reach everyone else at the other side of the courtyard, I quickly stand at attention.

“Today’s training is going to be a practice expedition. We are going to practice using the triangle shaped formation inside the walls, so when we are faced with titans we can easily assemble into this formation without major problems or losses,” Erwin declares. Everyone nods in acceptance and goes to retrieve their horses and equipment. There would be no point in bringing our maneuvering gear as it is just a test run, so our gear is left in our rooms. Once my horse is ready I pull myself up into the saddle and wiggle around a bit to get comfortable. I pat the brown mane of my gelding and sigh in content, even with today's reveal I cant help but feel happy.

I spot Armin and Mikasa and nudge my foot into my horse’s ribs, and guide him using the reigns toward my friends. I watch as Mikasa helps Armin up into the saddle (it being a bit difficult for him because of his size), and even though Mikasa isn’t that tall either, she gracefully lifts herself into the saddle without hesitation. Once Mikasa is on her horse she does something that surprises me.

She glares at me.

“Why didn’t you tell me you were kidnapped!? You were hurt and you didn’t even tell me!” She screams loudly. Oh... I forgot that Mikasa was overprotective. I gape at her, I open and close my mouth trying to find something to say to her, an answer that would be justifiable. All I accomplish is looking like a fish out of water. A look of hurt fills her face.

“Did you not trust me?” Tears begin to well in her eyes.

“Of course I trust you! I just didn’t want to worry you,” I say reassuringly. How could I not trust her? She was my sister, we are bonded by the obstacles we have overcome together.

I pull her into an awkward hug, trying not to fall off my horse. She digs her head into my shoulder and clutches me closely.
