Blitz Burns

The fire lashed at my arms. I could feel it burning my arms, chin, cheeks, and neck. My hands managed to protect the big portion of my face, but that wouldn't last long. If I couldn't get out from the tangle of wires, I would turn into Fillet Min'Blitz.
Suddenly, two hands grabbed my hips. A strong tug pulled me out of the wires. Wonder Girl had pulled me out. She pulled me up and stood me on my legs, "Are you alright?"
"Fine, just a few burns," I replied, "We have to get out, that machine is going to blow at any second."
Dick, who was standing right behind her, nodded, "Way ahead of you."
The three of us leapt from the platform. I threw my gloves on, and hooked the motherboard to my belt. It was very advanced tech, and could be used for something else. I wished we could save the entire machine, but that was pointless.
We met up with the rest of the team in the halls. Kid Flash had his mentor dangling from his shoulder. Flash's feet dragged on the ground as we ran. Wonder Girl grabbed his other arm and helped get him through.
The fire had spread across the room we were in, and was slowly taking over the entire building. Aqualad kept it away from us. He summoned magic water from the tattoos on his arms, which surprised me.
    "To the left!" Dick shouted.
We all tried to make our way through the heaps of bad guys. Alarms blared, making it somewhat hard to think. More bad guys met us in the hall. We had to take them down, mainly Dick, Aqualad, and myself. It took a lot of effort, but we eventually made it outside.
"Where to, boss?" Kid Flash asked.
Dick hesitated, "There was a hangar to the North. Maybe we can hijack a plane."
Nobody objected. We all made our way across the ice. Dick, Aqualad, and I worked to defend Wonder Girl and Kid Flash, who were preoccupied with the unconscious Flash. As we fought, I didn't have time to register the pain coming from the burns on my face. They were minor, and could be healed, but it still hurt like crap.
We made it to the hangar without many wounds. Dick and I opened the large doors, revealing a nearly empty warehouse. The only thing in it was a plane from the early 1940's. It even had the WWII bomber painting on the side.
"Are you kidding me?" Wonder Girl asked, "I bet that thing can't even fly."
"Right now, it's our only option," dick replied.
We made our way to the plane. Dick opened the doors, while Aqualad and I helped Wonder Girl and Kid Flash get Flash into the bay. He rolled on the floor while the rest of us jumped in. Dick and I hurried to the front.
    "Blitz-"
    "Right, hotwiring, on it."
    "I'll block the trackers."
I didn't ask what he meant. Instead, I focused on connecting the right wires to produce the desired effect. Together, Dick and I managed to get the plane going. He sat in the pilot's seat as Kid Flash took passenger. I went back with the others.
The plane lurched as Dick took us forward. At first, it was slowly, but it gained speed. By the time we made it to the runway, we were going faster than an average car. Dick took it to the runway and tried to get it off.
"What's wrong?" Kid Flash asked, "Why aren't we taking off?"
"The thing won't lift, it's like it's magnetized to the ground."
Wonder Girl peered over the seats, "Get it unmagnetized!"
Dick jerked at the controls. Eventually, the plane began to bounce. Beads of sweat trickled down Dick's forehead as he worked. By the end of the runway, he managed to vault us into the air.
"No promises on how far we can get," Dick said.
Kid Flash shrugged, "As long as it isn't Antarctica."
"Guys!" Aqualad suddenly exclaimed, "We're losing him!"
I spun around to see Aqualad giving CPR to Flash. The speedster had gone rigid, and looked like his eyes had rolled back in his head. I hurried to him to feel his pulse.
"His heart isn't beating," I gasped.
Aqualad huffed, "He's not breathing either.
Wonder Girl and Kid Flash rushed to Flash's side. Aqualad kept pumping as I breathed. After three seconds, nothing happened. Suddenly, an idea sprung into my mind.
"Stand back!" I exclaimed, "Whatever you do, don't touch him!"
I turned the dial on the inside of my gloves to maximum. The electricity shocked me, but I ignored it. Rubbing my hands together, I shouted, "Clear!"
I pressed my hands against flash's chest. He went rigid, but fell back. I did it three more times. Finally, on the fourth try, Flash sucked in a deep breath and opened his eyes.
    "What the-?"
"Flash!" Kid Flash exclaimed, "It's alright, we got you out of there!"
Flash glanced around, "W-where am I?"
"In the skies above Antarctica," Wonder Girl answered, "You were kidnapped by a branch of Cadmus. They were testing on you, and we rescued you."
    "Thank you."
Kid Flash knelt by Flash's head, "Dude, you were dead!"
    "What?"
"You were," Aqualad replied, "I began CPR, and Blitz used her gloves as a defibrillator."
I smiled. Flash glanced at all of us before allowing his head to fall back, "I'm going to need a nap after this."
"You can take all the naps you want, just don't make me shock you again," I stated.
Flash chuckled. All of us in the plane laughed in relief. This mission was terrifying, one of the best I'd ever been on. Success was a reason to celebrate. Living to see another day was even better.
