Jack's pov

I raised and eyebrow waiting on the man to let go of elsas arm. I could feel something was going on but it's none of my business. I didn't say anything out of jealousy. I just wanted a dance with the most stunning woman in there room.

I held out a hand to elsa and waited. She gave me a smile that Could light this whole castle if she wanted it to.

"I don't dance. " she told me shyly. I laughed softly choosing to ignore the guy to her left.

"me neither" I winked at her causing her to blush red all over. God that's so cute.

Elsa turned to the man to her left and gestured to me.

"Jack is a good friend of mine I trust I can spare him a dance before I speak to the prince of the southern isles? It will only be a moment, then you can wisk me away. " she asked.

My smile widened. There's no way he can tell her no when she asks like that, it would make him look bad.

Without waiting for his answer I grabbed her hand and led her to the center of the ball. The queen should always have the spotlight. Especially one as beautiful as elsa.

She stumbled behind me and I tugged her hand. She stopped in front of me. There was something gleaming in her eyes that I couldn't place. It was mixed with other emotions some. I know too well fear, anxiety, but was that happiness I saw gleaming too?

Tonight I've seen her smile more than I ever have. Hell I don't think I've ever seen the girl. Smile before. I want tonight to be a happy night. I could tell there was something eating it's way at the edge of her mind and it was keeping her from letting go completely and just enjoying her night. It is her night after all.

I placed her gloved hand on my shoulder and pulled her closer by her hips. We were so close that I could see the light reflect off of her beautiful eyes which were framed with thick black eyelashes.

We swayed to the music slowly. Our bodies moving in sync. I placed my lips next to her ear.

"you look beautiful queen elsa" I whispered. I felt her shiver and I wondered if it was from my coldness or my voice. God I hope it was from my voice.

"as you do as well. Only you're handsome this evening frost. " she mumbled softly. I smiled against the side of her cheek.

"so queen why hasn't you been answering my calls? I know you've heard them seeings on how it was your office phone." I told her.

She pushed back slightly so she could see my face. "Frost I've been busy playing this ball. I'm a queen after all. I can't do things I used to. "

I frowned rolling my eyes "elsa I understand you're queen but what about your friends? They will miss you being around."

"yes I know.. " she trailed off. "I'm not used to having people around you see? But you will be fine without me."

I paused causing her to step on my foot.

"you're not coming back. " I said the accusing tone taking her by surprise.

"Jack I'm the queen I can finish my classes at the castle where I belong. I don't have time to waste at that school." she stayed swaying to the music again and I followed.

I spotted the guy she was talking to earlier over her shoulder he glared at me as I danced with Elsa. I leaned to her ear once again.

"we're being watched my queen, ah dont look." I whispered so only she could hear. Lucky she listened to my warning about not looking.

"is it the man I was speaking with earlier? " she asked not sounding phased. I frowned.

"yes. How did you know? And what was all that talk of speaking to a prince from another kingdom? " I asked not caring if I sounded nosey. I pulled back to gaze into her eyes and there it was again.

The undying grief that stained her eyes before. Was this prince the cause of her pain? I swear if he hurt her-

"you will see soon enough frost. I really should go. " she stepped back and took my hand off my shoulder. I let go of her reluctantly.

She gave me one last smile but it was a sad smile. "Goodbye frost" she said softly.

"it's not goodbye my queen, you will see me soon I promise " I told her. She turned her back to me.

"you won't want to see me.." she told me as she walked away.

I stood there in the middle of the ball room gazing after her. She seemed so sad that my heart wanted to go comfort her bur I couldn't. She's a queen now. I know she has things to do. This ball being so important to her and the people.

But she's crazy if she thinks I'm going anywhere. But again some queens are crazy.
