*Kayla's POV- 2 Weeks Before Christmas*
"Hey, lads, I'm going out with Sophia, do any of you want to come?" Liam asked. The boys all shook their heads and he looked over at me. "We're probably going to the mall, you should probably come. You mentioned shopping the other day," he said. I nodded, standing up from my spot on the couch.
It's been about a week since Louis asked me to be his girlfriend. Both of our birthdays are coming up in about two weeks, and I still haven't gotten Louis his birthday or Christmas presents. Same goes for the other boys. Having not celebrated Christmas or birthdays since my mum was alive, I am still trying to figure out how I'm supposed to go about this.
I stood up and went back to the bunk area, grabbing my shoes and sliding them on. I grabbed the small amount of cash I still had from escaping my father, and put it in my back pocket. I left the bunks area and walked out, approaching Liam. He smiled and slipped on his beanie and sunglasses.
"Ready?" he asked. I nodded and we walked past the boys, towards the door. We were stopped by Louis tsk-ing at us, making us come to a halt.
"Kiss," he stated, pointing to his lips as he continued playing the game of the TV with the boys, his eyes not leaving the screen. I blushed and rolled my eyes, making Liam laugh. I quickly leant down, placing my lips on his in a quick peck. "Bye babe."
I rolled my eyes and sighed behind his back, seeing as he wasn't turned towards me.
'Idiot.'
Liam laughed and Louis spun around to face me.
"I saw that. There's a reflection in the TV, love. That wasn't nice," he pouted. I laughed and shrugged, grabbing Liam's arm and dragging him out the door.
"Okay, so we need to stop by Sophia's hotel real quick to pick her up, okay?" he said as we got into the car. I nodded and he started up the car, taking off down the highway. He reached over for the dial on the dashboard, turning on the radio.
'Hey girl I'm waiting on ya, I'm waiting on ya
Come on and let me sneak you out
And have a celebration, a celebration
The music up, the windows down'Liam's face brightened and he sang along, his voice blending perfectly with one of the singers on the radio. I listened a bit, realizing that it was him and the boys he was singing along to. We stopped at a red light and I signed to Liam.
'This is you guys?' I asked. He smiled and nodded.
"Yep! Live While We're Young. It's our new single. Well, sort of new," he shrugged. I nodded and listened to the rest of the song as we drove to Sophia's hotel.
We finally pulled up to the hotel entrance. A young woman who looked about 18-ish was standing outside the hotel entrance, looking down at her phone. She looked up at the sound of the car approaching, a smile stretching across her face. She saw me in the passenger seat and hurried to sit in the back, the smile still stretched across her face.
"Hey, babe!" she exclaimed, leaning forward to kiss Liam's cheek. "You must be Kayla!" she said, turning to face me. I nervously smiled and shook her now outstretched hand.
She was wearing a blue-grey sweater and white jeans with heels, looking like she just walked off a runway. I self consciously pulled at the sleeves of my oversized long sleeve shirt. I have shirts that are form-fitting, but I found this more comfortable today. I was suddenly regretting my decision.
"The boys have told me so much about you!" she exclaimed. I just looked over at Liam nervously, making him chuckle. "We're going to have so much fun shopping today! I haven't been able to hang out with any of the boy's girlfriends lately, so this is gonna be awesome," she said. I grinned nervously.
This is going to be interesting.
*2 Hours Later*
My feet hurt. I've been walking around the mall with Sophia and Liam for two hours now, a couple bags hanging off my arms. I had been picking up a few things with my little money before Liam had seen. He then pushed a wad of cash at me, insisting that he had enough.
"How many more people do you have to buy for?" Sophia asked me as she turned to face me. I had just been walking behind them as I marveled at the sights of the huge mall. Instead of making me feel like I was intruding on her and Liam, Sophia had made me feel like I was completely welcome, helping me get gifts for all the boys and making sure I didn't miss anyone.
'Louis' I signed. Liam translated, raising his eyebrow.
"You got him that Adidas jacket," he pointed out.'For Christmas. Birthday next.' I slowed down, the boys not having learned much sign language, but enough to understand if I slow down.
"Ah, okay. Well, what else could you get him?" he asks. I shrug, looking around.
I still didn't have any idea by the time that Sophia lead us to a little trinket shop. There we things from statues to pool tables, to beads and TVs.
Sophia and Liam went one way and I went the other, deciding to give them their time alone. I found a few cute little things, but nothing that I would think to get Louis.
Suddenly, something caught my eye. It was a average sized picture frame, with red diagonal stripes going across the black main part of the frame. It was very simple, but for some reason it caught my eye.
"Hey! Find anything?" Sophia chirped from behind me as she popped up. She followed my gaze to the picture frame, going and picking it up. "This is nice. Liam!" she called. He popped his head around the end of the isle.
"Yes?" he asks. She holds out her hand.
"Phone." He takes his phone out of his pocket, putting it in her outstretched hand.
She pulled up the pictures and started scrolling through them, stopping on a picture of me and Louis. It was taken as we were asleep on the couch, my head on his chest and his arm around me.
"How about, we get the frame and have this printed out? She suggested. I nodded and smiled, her returning it.
I can't wait till Louis sees this.
