Chapter 10

Previously...

More titans were approaching, we where surrounded.

~•Eren's P.O.V•~

Eren.

What was that sound? I could hear someone saying my name, but I couldn't make out who it was.

Eren.

There it was once again, but my eyes refused to open. A groan escaped my lips as I opened my eyes to a blinding light.

I was laying on the grass, inside the walls. Mikasa was right next to me, worry written all over her face. "Eren, you're crying." Her voice was soft and quiet. I was shocked and quickly touched my cheek.

She was right. I had been crying, most likely from a nightmare; one which I don't recall right now. Its all like a bad dream. "Mikasa?" Once I turn around she was gone. "What the hell?" I cursed and turned around.

Only to be met by Levi's squad's dead bodies to be scattered everywhere, forming a bloody mess. I wanted to throw up, but instead I stood there shocked. I did the only thing I could think of.

I ran.

Left everything behind me. Only to crash right into a titan. Reaching for my 3DM Gear I realized it was gone. The titan's creepy smile brought me back to my thoughts. My body wasn't reacting, I was probably paralyzed by fear or something.

"Move, god danm it!" I yelled cursing at my legs. The titan seemed to smile more as it picked me up and devoured me. The inside of the titan was not nicer than the outside. 'So this is how it ends,' I thought.

I never reached the basement, a few stray tears ran down my face. And I couldn't save everyone. I couldn't save you, Annie.

Annie...

"No! Eren!!" The shrieking sound of Armin's high pitched scream brought me back. I was currently on the ground on my knees. Tears rolling down my face.

My 3DM Gear was broken, and there was no gas pressure left on the tanks. It was useless. Humanity will not live the day to see all the titans dead. Speaking of which, I was now surrounded by titans.

There were mere titans, a few 10 meters, but other than that there were no abnormals. I started bitting my hand, the metallic taste of blood filled my mouth. But I didn't care, I continued biting my hand. No matter how many bruises I get, why can't I turn into my titan form!?

Thud. Thud. Thud.

Footsteps. And they seemed to be getting closer, like it was running. It somehow sounded familiar, wait it can't be...

~•Third Person's P.O.V•~

At the hour of 17:00, captain Erwin and his troops, or what remained, had now returned to the inside of the walls. They were currently in Wall Sina, waiting back to report to the King.

Captain Levi managed to get the troops out before Annie shifted into a titan. However, this time the female titan hadn't attacked, instead it ran. Although everyone tried to capture her, she was too fast.

They only managed to get more innocent people killed in the mission of retrieving the female titan, once again. It was the same misfortunes as they had been six months ago, when the female titan made its first appearance. However, this time, the female titan's location was unknown.

Those footsteps are just like the ones from six months ago. I clutched my hands into fists remembering everyone who died that day. I know Annie had a good reason for those deaths.. Right? Yes, she did! And thats what I choose to believe---
