Trigger Warning: Mentions of incestual sexual abuse

•|Vic's Pov|•

Never had I ever thought I'd fall in love. I wasn't opposed to the idea of falling in love, I just thought I would always be between relationships and casual partners due to my issues with commitment. I never thought that I would not regret shopping with my best friend.

Danielle always dragged me along on her shopping sprees. Correction, she just needed someone to drive her and carry all of her bags.

Danielle, although she was twenty-one, didn't have a license. When she was sixteen, she was in a drunk driving accident, where she was the driver. Her best friend was in a coma for nearly a year before she woke up, just before they had planned to pull the plug. Danielle pledged never to drive again, it was too traumatic of an experience for her to get back behind the wheel.

Anyway, we were in Victoria's secret while I held all of her bags for her, and cringed as she picked through many lingerie nighties. I spotted someone out of the corner of my eye, and I was baffled by how breathtaking they looked.

It was a boy, anatomically, dressed up in a crop top and high-waisted skirt. I had no idea of their pronouns so as I thought about them in my head, I chose to distinguish them as neither a boy or girl, because assumption is rude, and not my style.

They were smiling to themselves as they sprayed perfume onto their wrist, smelling it to see if they liked it. I was so in a trance that I stumbled when Danielle threw more things into my arms.

"Go talk to him." She said with a bright smile. My eyes widened as if the idea was insane, when in reality, I wanted nothing more than to do just that.

"Really?" I asked, and she nodded her head, her red hair bouncing at the action.

"How does my hair look?" I asked her, and she rolled her eyes at me, but with a smile on her face.

"You look like your usual hot self, go talk to him!" She screeched, and pushed me in his direction. I lost my footing, and only caught it when I stumbled right into them. Their eyes widened as they stumbled back, but we both regained balance before we fell.

"Shit, I'm so sorry, I-I didn't mean to bump into you." I stumbled over my words. They looked up at me with Big, beautiful green eyes. They were darker green around the edge, and lighter closer to their pupils.

"Oh, it's okay." They smiled at me, having to look up due to the small height difference.

"I'm Vic." I said when they looked as if they were about to walk away.

"I'm Kellin." They smiled, holding out their hand, before they realized my hands were full.

"Umm, would it be rude to ask for your pronouns?" I asked, trying not to sound like an inconsiderate asshole. They looked elated when I said that.

"No, of course not! This is actually the first time someone has decided to ask instead of assuming." They said with a happy tone. "I'm a boy, I just find girls' clothing to be much prettier." He said.

"Oh, well, I try to be a gentleman wherever I go, I never like to assume anything about people." I told him. He smiled, and then his gaze trailed over my shoulder.

"Is that your girlfriend?" He asked, and I looked back to see Danielle looking at us through a rack of lingerie.

"What? Oh, no." I shook my head, and dropped her stuff on the floor. "I'm gay." I stated, and I could already hear Danielle's heels clicking towards us.

"Vic, you can't just throw this stuff on the ground, it's expensive!" She whined, before marching towards the dressing rooms. Kellin laughed at the scene, before turning back to me.
