Victor: Let's meet up.

Kellin: Time and place?

Victor: Anywhere is fine as long as you're there

Kellin: sweet talker. Shall we say, Olive Garden, 7p.m. Friday?

Victor: We shall.

That's the last messages we shared. Right now I'm sitting on the hood of my car, scrolling on my phone in the Olive Garden parking lot. After a short month of texting on tinder, Victor and I are finally meeting.

I anxiously picked at my fingernails, a bad habit of mine. I had my hand out and fanned my fingers to look at my nails. They weren't gross, but probably not as long as normal.

I was caught off guard as the hand I held out was suddenly grabbed, and swiftly kissed. I looked up and saw the wonderful face I had seen many times while scanning his profile, and blushed intensely. That was pretty cute.

"You're even more beautiful in person, Kellin Quinn." He said charmingly, a toothy smile adorning his face. If I blushed any harder, I was gonna spontaneously turn into a tomato.

"It's nice to know I've not been catfished. You look pretty handsome yourself, Victor." I admitted. I hadn't been on a date in a while, so I wasn't really sure what to say.

"Just call me Vic." He said, a cool, confident air to him. Keyword: confident, not cocky. He was humble even though he had every right to brag about his good looks and charm.

"Shall we?" He asked, helping me off the hood of my car although it wasn't necessary. He opened the door

As we waited for our drinks in comfortable silence, I noticed something I hadn't seen before. His nails were painted dark purple. I tilted my head in confusion, laughing a little. Vic saw what I was staring at and chuckled as well, picking at the polish.

"My daughter painted my nails yesterday." He said, which certainly peaked my interest. It wasn't on his profile that he had a child.

"You have children?" I asked curiously. I wasn't angry, no, because I did the exact same thing. It's just so hard to find a man that would take the whole package. Me, and my son.

"Yeah. I know it's not on my profile, but I like to tell the man in person so I can at least charm them before scaring them away with the kids card." He said, seeming a but nervous of my reaction.

"I understand. I do the same thing." I said with a smile. Vic didn't strike me as the fatherly type when I first saw him, and I internally scolded myself for judging him by his looks.

"You have a kid, too?" He asked, and smiled in relief. This was already going so well. I've always wanted a man that likes kids, and they're hard to find. I nodded.

"A baby, more like it. His name's Elijah, he'll be one in a month." I smiled fondly at the thought of my beautiful baby boy. Our drinks finally came, and I thanked the waitress after she took our orders.

"Father?" He asked. I grimaced, stirring a finger in my tea.

"Not in the picture." I said vaguely, before turning this around on him. "What's your daughter's name, how old is she?"

He smiled. "Her name's Paige, she's seven. Would you like to see her?" I nodded, and waited patiently as he pulled out his phone. He scrolled a but, before handing me the phone. I 'aww'ed out loud, admiring the beautiful light skinned little girl.

"If you scroll left there's more." He said, so I did. She was absolutely precious. The last picture of her, Vic was in, too. He held the phone to face them as they both had an ice cream cone in their hands. They both had wide eyes and their tongues out. I smiled and laughed a little, handing it back to him.

"She's gorgeous." I complimented, taking a sip of my tea. He nodded, a sparkle in his eye. I could see how much he loved her when he talked about her, and it made my heart swell in adoration.

"Enough about our children. I love children to death, but this date should be us finding out more about each other." He chuckled, and I agreed.

Our conversations were all lighthearted, laughs being exchanged between us. Vic was a really funny guy, he seemed as though he was the whole package. Attractive, seemingly intelligent, funny, loves kids. There doesn't seem to be a flaw about him.

Our food came but that didn't stop us from conversing. We talked about music and movies and where we saw ourselves in the future. We talked about our favorite colors and foods and hobbies. It was all the cliche, perfect first date.

Vic picked up the check, which I did not fight. It's not that I wanted him to pay, but with a baby on your hands, you do what you can to save money. He understood though, and he said he would've paid even if I did have money.

"I don't suppose I'm allowed to go back to your house on the first date?" He asked. He didn't say it suggestively though, it seemed as though he was just having fun as I am.

"You can as long as you don't have hidden intentions." I answered. "You can even meet Elijah."

"I'd love to. I'll follow your car?" I nodded, and we both got in our separate cars. I made sure we didn't get separated at any stoplights, sticking close but not too close. Soon enough, we were pulling into my driveway.

My sister didn't seem too happy that I brought Vic here, but she still shook his hand and I told her she could go, as I was not in need of a babysitter anymore.

Elijah was laying on his stomach on a blanket, watching the TV as if he knew what was going on. It was SpongeBob, I assume from the DVR because SpongeBob normally doesn't come on at nine at night. I have almost every episode recorded... For Elijah. Totally for Elijah.

"Eli!" I cooed, getting his head to turn. He giggled when he saw me. I couldn't help but to laugh at his infectious giggle. He got up holding onto the edge of the coffee table until he considered himself stable.

He hobbled over to me, almost falling as he got to me, but I caught him in my arms. I sat him on my hip, and he stared at Vic with wide eyes.

"Vic, this is Elijah." I said, stroking his little, soft head. Vic smiled and bent down until he was face to face with Eli. Vic made a funny face at him, which made him giggle madly. He even swatted at Vic, hitting him on his nose.

"Eli!" I scolded, although I was laughing. Vic chuckled too, and stood back up.

"He's cute. Looks just like you." He murmured, his hands in his jean pockets.

"He does." I smiled fondly at him. "I should probably put him to bed. I should go warm up his milk." I said, walking towards the kitchen and setting him down. He plopped down on the floor and sat there, spluttering and making baby noises as he should.

"Will he let me hold him?" Vic asked, looking down at him in adoration.

"He should." I said, shaking up his bottle after putting in the formula. I turned in the sink and ran the hit water, holding the bottle underneath it.

I looked over to see Vic carefully picking him up, sitting him on his hip as I had earlier. Elijah seemed bored, not really paying any attention to the man holding him. That is, he wasn't until Vic tickled his little stomach. Eli's eyes widened as he smiled, his toothless grin making me swoon. He was in a fit of giggles as Vic tickled his little stomach with a single finger. I couldn't stop laughing either, I had to put my hand over my mouth to stifle it. Eli had one of the most infectious giggles I had ever known a baby to have.

I gently took him from Vic's grasp, holding his bottle for him as he began to drink it. He reached up to hold it, but I still didn't let go, wanting to make sure he didn't drop it because it was too heavy.

"I love him so much." I whispered fondly, rocking him gently while he drank. I looked up towards Vic, to already find him staring back at me.

"I know I will, too."
