*Lillian POV*

I started to shiver and remember that I ran out her in shorts and a thin cotton t-shirt.

“Go inside and put some clothes on will yeah?” Harry teased, smiling widely. I let out a nervous chuckle and ran back inside. When I entered my mum was sitting at the table wide awake.

“Mum what are you doing up?” I asked and she looked at me. She looked like a zombie.

“Someone just called.” She said monotone and not changing in facial expression. I started to freak out, my heart beat racing.

“What did they say? W-who was it?” I asked. “You’re on their turf now.” She said and I started to breath heavily. Why is this happening? Surely whatever happened between my dad and Jace or Kristy couldn’t have been to bad right? Who is this mysterious person?

I have a bad feeling I’m going to find out soon…

“Whose outside Lillian? Why were you outside at 1 in the morning?” she asked me, colour returning to her face and her voice actually had some tone to it now.

“Harry. He came from the UK.” I sputtered out completely forgetting she didn’t know who he is or anything about him.

“Who is he?” she asked again.

“He…” who is he? Do I even know what is he to me? A friend? Sort of, but he just humiliated me in front of the school. My head was pounding with all the information it has had to deal with in 36 hours.

“…he is a friend. He knows Jace and yeah.” I said, not realizing how bad that sounds. The guy that broke up my parents is one of Harry’s closest friends; that’s totally messed up.

“Why is he here? What business does he have with you?” she asked and I didn’t quite know why he is here myself. I was kind of annoyed by my mums nosiness in Harry, for some reason it made me upset.

“I don’t know yet, he just showed up.” I said matter of factually.

My mum just stumbled into my life, well I stumbled into her life, but here in America I am of legal age and she isn’t my legal guardian so she has no say in what I do. I know that’s a really harsh thing to think of when I just found her but for some reason I hate when people are so quick to judge someone; I can tell my mum is judging Harry.

“He’s trouble.” Was the only thing she said before she wrote her number down on a piece of paper and then walked upstairs without another word or glance my way.

I folded up the piece of paper and carried it upstairs with my where I changed into pants and grabbed my jacket and phone then I ran back downstairs and outside.

Harry was on the phone when I got outside and I stayed back a bit not wanting to intrude on his conversation.

*Harry POV*

I was just standing around waiting for Lillian when her sister called me; the ringing of my phone disturbing this peaceful silence. I answered just so it would shut off but didn’t expect to hear anything close to what she said.

“Harry, why did I get a phone call saying ‘You’re on our turf now.’?” She screamed down the line and I groaned.

“I don’t know Emma, I’m trying to get to the bottom of this myself.” I replied and she gasped. My head is pounding from all this stress over the past 36 hours.

“Where are you? Did you follow – OMG you’re in the US aren’t you?” she asked, delight in her voice at the possibility that I might have followed her sister to the US. I did and I think I’m starting to regret that decision a bit.
