I feel so numb
Staring at the shower wall
It's begun,
The feeling that the end has come
And now the water's cold
Luke runs a hand threw his wet hair, as more water runs down his back. His mind was so clouded. He was so confused, and felt so much pain. His mate Ashton stands on the other side of the locked bathroom door, asking if he was alright. Luke couldn't make out the words.
I tried to eat today
But the lump in my throat got in the way
Michael looks at the food in front of him. He wanted to eat it so bad, but something in his throat was stopping him from doing so. His mate Calum clears his throat and Michael looks up. Michael shakes his head and walks away from the table he and Calum has just been seated at. He couldn't take the pain today.
In this time I've lost all sense of pride
I've called a hundred times
If I hear your voice I'll be fine
Luke throws on random sweats and a sweat shirt that was Michael's his ex. He looks at his phone, knowing it was so stupid and showed he had no strength, he picks up the phone dialing Michael's number, just hoping he would answer. Just as always though, he's sent right to voicemail.
And I, I can't come alive
I want the room to take me under
'Cause I can't help but wonder
What if I had one more night for goodbye?
If you're not here to turn the lights off, I can't sleep
These four walls and me
Michael had made it back to his flat with only little tear shed. But as he entered the flat it just reminded him of his ex, Luke. They shared the flat before Luke left, and now it's still just filled with memories. He curls up on the couch where they used to watch stupid movies, play video games, or just sit all day and cuddle talking about their future together. Michael sobs at the thoughts. He just wanted the room to swallow him up.
I lay in bed
Can't seem to leave your side
Your pillow's wet
From all these tears I've cried
I won't say goodbye
Luke lay in guest bed at Ashton's, hugging the pillow that he took with him when he left his shared flat with Michael, but it was now just Michael's. Luke let's tears fall over the pillow remembering everything that had happened in the bed that this pillow used to call home. He realized that it no longer smelt like Michael's hair dye, he felt as if he lost Michael again.
I tried to smile today
Then I realized there's no point anyway
The next day Michael had gone out with Calum, going to the music shop where they normally spent most of their time. He scanned his eyes over every CD, record, tape, instrement, in the shop. He walked over to the CD's looking for a new All Time Low CD. He'd mostly baught them on iTunes, but he loved getting the physical copies also. He walked over finding every album the band had ever put on the market. He tried to smile, but when he looked at the song list, he didn't see the point in smiling when the songs reminded him of Luke.
In this time I've lost all sense of pride
I've called a thousand times
If I hear your voice I'll be fine
Ashton looks over at his best mate, seeing him with his phone pressed up to his ear once again, more tears streking his face. He looked like he'd just been through a tornado. Hair going every which way, eyes blood shot, cloths that made him look poor, Luke just looked depressed, and there wasn't really anything that Ashton could do to fix it. He knew there was no getting Luke and Michael back together, no matter how hurt they both are, and how much they need each other. There was no more Luke and Michael.
And I, I can't come alive
I want the room to take me under
'Cause I can't help but wonder
What if I had one more night for goodbye?
If you're not here to turn the lights off I can't sleep
These four walls and me
Calum sits across from his best mate in his living room, watching him stare off into space, looking like he was dead. Calum knew Michael felt like he should be. He was so broken without Luke by his side making me smile. Calum knew that Michael was almost nothing now, without his Luke, he felt like nothing, he had nothing. Calum wished that he could change that, but there was no changing that. It was like there was no Michael without Luke. He wished there was a way for them to be together again, but there wasn't.
And I, I can't come alive
I want the room to take me under
'Cause I can't help but wonder
What if I had one more night for goodbye?
If you're not here to turn the lights off I can't sleep
These four walls and me
A few months later Luke walks down the street with a smile on his face. Ashton walks next to him telling some kind of corny joke that Luke still laughs at even though he wasn't paying the most attention in the world. He had spotted someone that he hadn't seen in a long time, and he almost liked that, but he still loved that person with all of his heart, but he knew he'd let go, even if he was still loving them.
Michael sits in a park with Calum playing their guitars with smiles across their faces. This was something they did a lot now. They would come and sit in the park and play music for the people around. Some time's they would sing, little kids loved them, and so did some of the teens, they thought of making a band, but they needed a couple more people. Michael stops strumming his guitar when something catches his eye from the street that was not even 10 feet away from him. Not really something, more like someone. Someone he knew his mind had let go of, but his heart didn't. Someone he'd love forever.
"Hi Michael, hi Calum." Luke says giving a wave to them as he and Ashton walk over.
"Hi Luke, hey Ashton." Calum says as Michael stares down Luke, shock covering his face. It'd been months and now they were finally face to face again. Michael hoped there was a chance, but knew there probably wasn't.
"How have you two been?" Ashton asks. Luke was slightly in the same state as Michael, looking over Michael and his new hair color, and slightly different fetures. His heart fluttered when their eyes met for a second. Was that old spark really still there?
"We've been good. Playing music. You?" Michael says breaking his eye contact with Luke. He needed to focus on other things not falling back in love with Luke. He knew there was too many walls to break down again with Luke, he'd never have another chance.
"Same, we've got this small gig with a record lable, but they want us to have a full band. You guys maybe wanna join us?" Luke says. He knew that this might be his only chance to spend some kind of time with Michael even if it wasn't loving each other.
Michael and Calum share a glace, before nodding at their old friends. This was a big break for the four of them. And maybe another chance at love for two. But there was still four walls that both of the lovers had up around them, that needed to be broke down.
