"I don't want you to ever see that boy again!"
"But Father why?"
"Because I will not allow my son to hang around with a Irwin, and that's final!"
"He's done nothing wrong! He's not like the rest of them! Father please!"
"No! Now go to your room! And you will stay there until I say!"
"Father-"
"Go Calum!"
Calum watched his father for a second longer before bolting up to his room and locking the door behind him. You would think that his first thought would be to disobey his father, run out of the door in stead of to his room, or even climb out of his window. Calum could not. Someone would catch him before he was five feet from the door, his window had bars covering it. He was stuck in what seemed like a prison.
He sits at his window looking out at the now dark sky. Once his father found out that he was with an Irwin, he was ballistic and kicked the boy out. And as you saw, sent Calum to his room. What Calum's father didn't know, was that the two boys were in love. No matter what he did, it wouldn't keep them apart, or at least Calum and his love Ashton hoped that they could find some kind of loop hole.
A whistle came from below Calum's window making him smile, he made the noise back, waiting for Ashton to climb up the side of the old building. "My love." Ashton grinned at he reached the window holding on the bars to keep himself there.
"Oh Ashton, it's terrible, my father's sent me in my room until he let's me out. I don't how I'll sneak out." Calum wailed, Ashton's face turned to complete sadness reaching through the bars to caress his lover's cheek.
"It will be alright love, we'll find a way. Remember when the nightingale's sing, I will never be far from thy. When the morning glories chirp, I will leave you, but never your mind. Forever you are in my heart, my love, as long as we can imagine the nightingales that keep us safe, we will always be together. You are my nightingale and I, am yours."
Calum looked at Ashton with love filled eyes, and got them back in return. The two stood there until they heard a whistle and knew who it was. It was their friends Luke and Michael, well Luke was Ashton's cousin, and Michael was just the best friend that was like family.
"Ashton! You need to leave now! Your mother is looking for you!" Luke hissed up to his cousin who sighed looking at his love once again.
"Coming." Calum smiled at Ashton's sad face, still holding his hand through the bars.
"Go, we'll find a way to see each other tomorrow." Ashton grabbed Calum's face, bringing it to the bars of the window, carefully pecking his lips.
"I love you." The say simultaneously. The two smile before Calum watches Ashton climb down to their friends and run off with one last wave. Calum sat there looking at the spot where they had just been. He knew that he'd see Ashton again soon enough, they always kept that promise.
I can't sleep tonight
Wide awake and so confused
Everything's in line
But I am bruised
I need a voice to echo
I need a light to take me home
I kinda need a hero
Is it you?Calum questioned if he would actually get to leave his family home again. Would he truly ever get to be with Ashton?
Ashton walked yards behind Luke and Michael on the way back to his mother's home. He knew that when he got there, she'd just be displeased with him for not being home. He looked at the tree's that surrounded him, remembering when he and Calum would walk through them late at night or in the middle of the day.
