Luke
I look up at the huge stage, thinking that I could be up there. I could be there if I wasn't so shitty. I could be up there with my best friend. Ashton said they could use another guitarist. But I didn't want to just play; I wanted to sing.
He along with his friends Michael and Calum, have a band called 5 Seconds of Summer. Calum was lead vocals and bass, Michael was guitar and vocals, Ashton was the drummer, also having vocals on some songs. Tonight was the opening night of the tour they were the opening act for. Opening for One Direction too, so that was really big.
I promised Ashton I would come to cheer him on. Even if it was hard to hear what was going on. You see I'm partly deaf. At a young age I was in an accident, that screwed up my ears, taking away most of my hearing in each ear. It's hard not having my full hearing. Hearing Aid's help, but I just wish I could hear on my own.
Learning to play guitar with bad hearing was hard, but I got threw it, and now I'm pretty damn good. I've never really tried singing other then in the shower. I can't hear myself well enough to know what I sound like. So I just don't do it.
The crowd starts to scream, and sadly it's loud enough to still ring my ear drums. Ugh, another reason I have only gone to a few concert's in my life. I look up to the stage to see Ashton walking out waving his drum sticks in the air. He looks over at me with a grin, waving. The girls around me thought he waved at them so they screamed louder, making me chuckle. I'll just let them live their fantacy.
Michael walks out next giving a few fans high fives. He smiles at me once he see's me. I smile back giving him a wave. Some of the girls glare at me, because I was getting atention for he boys. Sucks for you now, doesn't it you sluts.
When Calum walks on stage everyone screams and I watch him in wonder. I've only seen Calum a couple of times and that was mostly as school or at Ashtons when I was there durring a band practice. But I've never really looked at him until now. And damn is he atractive.
Calum waves at everyone walking over in front of me on stage. He holds his hand out and I watch it for a moment before taking it. He easily pulls me onto stage, making me and everyone else gasp.
"What are you doing?" I almost hiss at him as Ashton and Michael walk over.
"Hello Sydeny!" Ashton grins yelling into the microphone. "So this fine young lad here, is my best friend Luke Hemmings! And he's partly deph. Now I know that's sad, but this boys has a dream. A dream to sing on stage, he already play guitar, again by the way. But he doesn't think he can sing, because it's hard for him to hear himself. So we need you all, to help us, get Luke here singing. Because this band, needs him. We really do." Ashton looks at me and everyone cheers. One of the tech guys walks out with a guitar. I shake my head no, backing away from everyone, right into Ashton's drumset. Luckily I didn't knock it over, Ashton would have killed me.
I could headly hear it, but I could hear my name being chanted. Did they really want me to sing? Should I do it? Just got get my worst fear and dream off of my chest?
"Come on Luke, you'll do fine. We can do any song you want." Michael says holding out the guitar to me.
"O-okay. Can we do Applause?" I ask taking the guitar from his hand. They all nod with huge smiles on their faces.
Breath. Just breath. "Um... Hello everyone. I'm Luke, as Ashton just told you... THey're forcing me to do this, and well, we're going to cover Applause by Lady GaGa." I quickly say backing away from the microphone for a moment.
I stand here waiting for you to bang the gong
To crash the critic saying, "is it right or is it wrong?"
