Chapter 2

I rushed into my next class, science. My favorite class out of all of them. But, I had to sit upfront. Great. I sat down next to a familiar dark haired boy. "Hi." He mumbled. I looked at him, "h-hi." I whispered and looked away. He cleared his throat and relaxed in his chair.

"Take your seats." The hot male substitute teacher came in. "I will be subbing for your class today." Everyone continued to talk and throw paper across the room. The boy next to me was the only one that wasn't talking (besides me.)

"Listen up, your teacher assigned you all partners for your next project." Everyone looked at him.

"Alexis, Zack"

"Ben, Mark"

I tuned him out and played with my fingers.

He called out the rest of the names until I heard

"Calum, Bri"

I froze.

Everyone starting pointing and laughing at Calum.

"I-I'm sorry. You don't have to. I can find a new partner."

I mumbled and looked down, trying to ignore the laughing.

"N-no, it's okay." He mumbled.

"O-oh."

"Okay everyone settle down." The teacher shouted.

"The project is due in 2 weeks." He finished explaining what the project was about.

Once again, I waited anxiously for the bell to ring. Once it did everyone got up.

"Ok, you are dismissed!" The sub shouted and everyone ran out, I grabbed my stuff and fast walked to the door.

"Wait up!" I heard the same dark haired boy shout. He caught up to me and looked at me.

"Umm, so about the project. We can meet up at my house after school if you'd like?" He sounded nervous. Why was he nervous?

"Ok." I mumbled and he handed me a small paper.

"C'mon Calum stop talking to the nerd lets go!" The boy with the lip piercing shouted.

"Bye." He mumbled and scurried off to his "group."

I looked down at the paper. It just said "calum" and had a phone number under the name.

I put the paper in my pocket and walked to lunch.
