"That's us." I said.

"Yeah." Aidan said.

"What do we have to do with this whole thing?"

"Maybe we're part of it?" Aidan suggested. "Part of this 'Operation Evolutians'."

"What does that even mean?" I asked. "Evolutians?"

"Well, it's not too far from the word 'evolution'. Maybe it's something similar to that?"

"Maybe." I said. "Do you know the other two kids?"

He looked closer. "I've never seen them here. But..."

"But what?"

"They do look familiar. Maybe you know them."

I looked at the photo. The boy had caramel blonde hair and sparkling blue eyes. The girl had brown-to-blonde hair and wore black-framed glasses over her green eyes. We all wore white collared shirts and either a black skirt or black pants.

They did look really familiar.

Think Lauren. You've seen them somewhere.

I looked at the photo for a while, desperate to figure out who they were.

And then it hit me.

"Tyson and Alyssa."

"Who?" Aidan asked with a confused look on his face.

"The other two kids in the photo. Their names are Tyson and Alyssa."

"How do you know?"

I told him about the dream I had, the night we first met.

"Oh right, you told me already." He said.

"I did?" He nodded. "Oh."

"Except, you didn't mention that I was mentioned in your dream." He said.

"Oh."

"Why didn't you?" He asked.

"I don't know. I just didn't."

"Well, that kind of answers my questions about you."

"Huh?"

He sat down on the couch. I sat down beside him.

"Well, I kept seeing you in my dreams." He started.

"That's kinda weird." I said as I inched away from him.

He laughed. "Yeah it is, considering at the time, I had no idea who you were. But then I saw you that day, and I knew I saw you somewhere else. Other than my dream. We could've known each other before all this."

"We could've, couldn't we have?" I said.

"Huh?"

"Never mind." I said. "So do we open the file or what?"

"Do you want to?" Aidan asked nervously.

"Kind of..."

"Then let's do it."

We walked back to the desk. The file seemed like it glowed in the dim lit room. I reached out to it.

"Ready?" I asked.

"Ready." Aidan replied, his voice lacking with confidence.

To be honest, I wasn't even sure if I wanted to do this. This file could reveal everything. About this place. About this experiment I've heard about.

About us.

I pushed the butterflies aside. It's now or never. I thought. I flipped open the file and read the first page.
