Ch.5

Previously :
The first school day is over and the demigods are on their way to Camp Half-Blood. They fight a bunch of storm spirits and find the mysterious girl, Harper. She goes with them to camp and Chiron says she will be claimed at the campfire. Who's Harper's God parent? Lets find out!

Harper's POV

I was actually happy for once.
I was with people who understand me and are like me.
Demigods.
And to find out there's a whole camp full of them, I couldn't feel better. But I kept wondering who my God parent is. I know my mom is mortal, but I didn't tell anyone else that. I didn't really like talking about her. I live in an old, aboundond house near a forgotten street. And I had a brother once, but he was a regular mortal and he left to make music, he didn't know I live by myself, or even cares.

I walked around with the tall kid who had blonde hair and ice blue eyes. He offered me a tour since I saved his life not to long ago. Though his girlfriend, Piper didn't look happy about. I wonder why?

"So what's that over there?" I asked in a quiet voice. I was still pretty shy.

"Oh that's the climbing wall, with lava." He responded.

"So what's this whole being-a-demigod-thing work?" I asked.

"Well I learned I was a demigod when I was 2 years old. "

I looked at him and I was about to ask who was his God parent until Piper came up to us.

"C'mon Jason. We have to go to the campfire", she glared at me like I was an insect, "You too. "

Jason looked at me and then back at Piper. Then he went of with her, leaving me by myself. I started walking their direction, then someone put their hand on my shoulder. I turned and saw the blonde, tall girl with dangerous stormy, gray eyes. She looked plenty friendly though.

"Hi. " I said casually.

"Hello Harper." She said back. "Are you ok."

"Huh, oh yeah, I'm fine. Just thinking."

She looked at me funny. I remember her name being Annabeth.

"So, who's your mortal parent?" Annabeth asked as we walked to the campfire.

I told her about my past and how I only knew my mother for a little bit...until she died in the most horrible way. And I told her that I have been living at the abandoned house ever since.

"Oh, I know how that feels." Annabeth said, with sadness in her voice.

I was wondering about her past. I was about to ask her when we got to the campfire and went to sit down. They let us sit anywhere. So I saw Annabeth go and sit with Percy. I rember hering and seeing him a couple times in school. But I never felt any kind of feeling for him like other girls do. Sure he kinda cute but he always seemed more close to me, like family. But that couldn't be, we never met. Yet I feel like he's related to me.

I went and sat down by myself, until a boy I never met, came and sat next to me. He had black hair and coal, black eyes...like mine. He wore a black shirt and black jeans and a silver, skull ring on his finger. Kinda like me necklace. And he was very pale. I could tell he was 1 year younger than me. Probably 14 years old.

Finally I said, "hi, I'm Harper."

He looked at me and replied with a little smile, "Nico Di Angelo." He said putting out his hand.

I shook it and let go to put my cold hands back in my pocket. He looked like he wanted to tell me something but another boy came up to us. He had messy sand color hair and he had a first ad kit on the side of his shorts.

"Cmon Nico", he said looking at Nico.

Nico looked at me then said, "I'm coming Will."

I'm guessing the boy with sandy hair was Will. They walked of and I was alone again. In the distance I saw Leo and another girl with caramel color hair, laughing together. They looked like a couple. Leo was the kid I met at school earlier. He kinda saved me from some monsters. But I didn't get to thank him. I got scared because of the fire he blasted out of his hand. I dissapered into shadows, a cool trick I learned to do a long time ago, but I still don't know how I do it.

Chiron came and stomped his hoof against the stone to get the campers attention.

"Campers!" He shouted to calm down the croud. "I have a new camper to introduce."

Please don't say me, I thought to myself. I didn't like drawing attention to myself. It's not like I'm very notice able.

But before he could call on me, a sound came out of the woods. Then out of nowhere 10 bolders flew from the woods and landed around the campfire. Campers started screaming and I saw Percy, Annabeth, Jason, and Piper up on there feet. I was too. I heard screaming coming from the woods. I ran strait that way, not even thinking.

When I got there I saw 2 campers injured and lying on the floor. I could tell they were alive, just a feeling. Then I saw the treat. It was a huge, oversized crab. What the hell, I thought. When I saw Percy run up to me his eyes darted to the crab.

"Man, I've fought that thing before." He said, taking a breath. (Hint: he fought the crab in the beginning of 'The Last Olympian')

I saw the crab run up to us so I darted to the left while Percy did to the right. I saw one of the campers on the floor move and get up. It was the big kid I saw in the ally with the others.

"Frank!" Percy yelled. Annabeth came up next to him and brought out her dagger. I saw Frank look down at the other camper then went wide-eyed. I recognized the other camper, it was the girl named, Hazel. I ran over to them and looked at Hazel. She had a nasty looking cut on her stomach and she was breathing hard.

"I have to take her to the Apollo cabin." He said in a steady voice. With that he transformed into a giant eagle and swiped up Hazel. For some reason that didn't surprise me. I've seen a lot of weird things in my life.

I saw Nico run up to us and took out a black sword. Again, like mine. He charged at the crab, but got hit by a claw and hit a tree. He fell and didn't move, but I can here him groaning. The crab aimed his leg at Nico and was about to crush him. I screamed and ran in between him and the leg. I put my little skull on my necklace in my hand and ripped off the necklace. Instantly it turned into a black swore and sliced off the the leg.

The monster roared in pain as I saw Jason stab it in the eye. He was also flying. The monster ran towards me and I did something I've only done once. I thrusted out my hands and the ground shook. 3 hell hounds leaped out of a hole that appeared out of the ground. Each hellhound were attacking the monster untill it desinagrated. The hell hounds went back into the hole and they closed up. I collapsed and then got back up. I looked at my feet, the grass around me all turned black. Everyone was staring at me. Then something popped up on my head, a black simble. I didn't know what it meant but everyone was wide-eyed. Even Chiron, who just showed up.

He cleared his throat and said "Hail, Harper Rose, daughter of...Hades."

Then I was wide-eyed, how did he know my last name? What did he just say...Hades, as in the Greek God of the dead? But...how...why. I had so many questions but I looked at Nico and he was the only one who didn't look surprised.

"Well, I'll have to take you to cabin 13." Nico said. "Hades cabin."

Well, I hope you enjoyed this chapter. By the way, Harper is actually a name I'm using in an actual book I'm writing in real life.
