Kyoya's P.O.V.
I sigh, my lips pursed as I watch her sob. Inhaling sharpy I place a hand on her arm. "Nami.."
She doesn't look up and I bring my hands to her cheeks, raising her face and wiped her tears away. "It'll be alright.."
SZZhe pulls away and shakes her head. "No, it won't. You-I can't go against him. He already does enough to you, you don't need another reason," she rubs her arm and gulps. "Besides, h-he's right...my father disowned me. I'm of n-no merit. You have to marry someone who can."
I grit my teeth and rest my hands on her shoulders. "Nami.. Merit doesn't matter to me. I love you-"
"I love you too." I smile softly and continue. "Then it'll be fine. We can get through anything together, I love you, Nami."
She smiles weakly as I notice two more tears fall from her eyes. "Kyoya, I love you dearly. I would love to marry you, you know this. But, we can't be together. You've been striving for the company for years and your father already abuses you...I'm sorry." she grabs my hands and pushes me back, her hands linger in mine for a moment before she hesitantly pulls away and walks off. I stand there, knowing I couldn't go after her.
Nami's P.O.V.
I turn and walk away, holding in sobs as my lip quivered and I partially wished for him to run up and change my mind, to hold me and coo that it'd be okay.
He never did. I just left and made it to my home, closing the door and trying to catch my breath through shaky sobs.
It wasn't fair. To place two in engagement who hate each other then fall in love before breaking it and changing it entirely.
She took out her phone and inhaled when she saw three missed calls, two from her father and one from Kyoya.
She sighed and clicked on her fathers, the calling screen appearing. She felt sick, he probably knew of what happened at the Cafe. Most of Japan probably did.
Instead, an unfamiliar voice answered. "Hello, is this Nami Shirihata?"
She looked at the phone in confusion before replying, "Yes..."
"I'm terribly sorry to inform you Mistress Shirihata but your father just passed away in the Hospital. He had a heart
attack and didn't come through. I'm sorry."The words froze me, I felt as if oxygen left my body. I couldn't speak and I had to grip the desk next to me for support. "What?"
She simply said "I'm sorry." sympathetically before we ended the call and I stood there silent. I couldn't react, my whole body felt as if I would drop. I couldn't cry, sob or breath. I could only stand there, holding the phone as my body shook.
Who else in Japan knew? Did Kyoya know, was that why he called? How would everyone in Japan react, knowing the only child of the Shirihata name would become the heir. A female that is.
