"Benjamin, wake up. Benjie, c'mon!"

If there is one thing that I should be bothered of right now, it is that these nightmares are becoming more frequent and more, real. I swear, I can still feel the pain in my arm and I can still smell burning wood.

But just like the past nightmares, it always ends up with my sister waking me up and saving me from dying in my sleep.

I slowly opened my eyes, and there Trinity was above me, looking at me worriedly with violet eyes.

Violet eyes? Trinity? Fuck.

I rose from where I was lying and hurriedly backed away from Trinity who now stood beside Dei.

"Benjie.."

"Trinity, your eyes! Why are they violet? Your hair, it's different. What's that in your hand? Why do you have a whip?!"

The two women in front of me exchanged worried glances before Trinity came near me and touched my face.

"Benjie, this is still me. I know I owe you a lot of explanation and I am sorry because I didn't let you know but we have to go now. We are not safe here. Please trust me."

I looked straight into Trinity's, now violet, eyes. Though my sister looked very different now, I still saw the same sister that scared away the bigger kids that bullied me in middle school, the same sister that cleaned my bruises every time I skinned my knees from playing in the park, the same sister who cooked pancakes for me every morning.

The same sister who always woke me up from my nightmares.

I nodded and stood from where I was slumped. I still don't understand what is going on but as Trinity said, I should just trust her.

"Dei, take my car and take Benjie with you. I'll guard you from behind. Give me your keys, I'll take your bike." We ran towards the driveway and I was appalled to see thick ashes strewn around our yard.

"The Daemones become ashes when they are slain." Dei explained as she saw my confusion. I followed her to Trinity's car and as we sat, her in the driver's seat and me shotgun, she reached for my seatbelt allowing me to take a closer look at her. I noticed long eyelashes and soft skin. Brown hair as silky as chocolate. I was lost in her for a moment until Trinity tapped the hood of the car.

"Let's go!"

Dei raised her eyes, looked at me and said, "Buckle up Phoenix, it's going to be a rough ride."

We were barely out of the driveway when I heard the ghastly sound again. I turned and looked behind us to see the monsters, maybe a hundred of them, running behind Trinity trying to get to us.

"There's more of them Dei, there's more of them."

Dei didn't say a word but she looked at the rear view mirror and grunted as she saw what I was talking about. She shifted gears and stepped on the gas, driving us faster than we should be on a residential road.

"Dei!" Trinity caught up with us and was now driving along side us. "Go straight to Calixto, I'll stop to keep this monsters off our butts."

"What? Are you insane?! There's too many of them!" Dei shouted.

"There's no other way!"

"But Trinity.."

"Just go!" And with that Trinity decreased speed and stopped across the street, barricading the way so the creatures can't reach us. I looked out of my window, almost throwing out half of my body, "Trinity!" I shouted.

She turned as she heard me and waved and smiled sadly at my direction. As I watched Trinity reached for her whip, whipping it on the ground one time to summon it's electricity, I tasted something salty in my mouth and realized it was the taste of my tears.

As I went back in my seat I heard the numerous ghastly voices of the Daemones growing near and not long enough, Trinity's whips too.

Pak, pak, pak! Trinity's whip was going too fast, hurting my ear. There was a brief silence and both Dei and I were startled as the loudest whip echoed in the horizon followed by a staggering explosion. It was the finale, I suppose, as there was an eerie silence after that.

I guess I was too scared to notice right away that Dei was crying too. She had that glassy look in her eyes again, like she is seeing something in her mind, and slowly her sobs became louder and louder until she was already wailing.

"Dei, what's wrong? Dei, what's happening? Dei!" The car started swerving, going out of direction and I had to grab the wheel from her. I had to struggle to reach for the breaks and stop the car.

As we screeched to a halt Dei went out of the car, still with a glassy look and started running towards the direction that we came from. I ran after her, calling her name, but she doesn't hear me and just kept running.

"Trinity.." She said in between her sobs and it scared the hell out of me.

"What happened to Trinity?! Dei! What happened to my sister!" I caught up with her and pulled her and just as the same time flashes appeared in my head and a deafening static rang in my ear, making me lose my balance. The sensation was so painful, it felt like I was being stabbed in the chest that I started vomiting. I felt liquid coming out of my nose and I was surprised to see crimson in my fingers when I touched it.

I saw Dei a few steps away from me, on all fours, still weeping. I tried to get up to come near her but another painful flash and static struck my head. As I shouted because of the tremendous pain in my head, Dei was also calling out for my sister's name.

"Trinity!! Nooooooooo!!"
