The Wedding

Chapter 4

When Cora woke up she was pretty sure the pounding in her head is about to split wide open.
This is worse than the New Years eve party when she gotten drunk   and serenaded her then boyfriend with " Forever is not enough" ... Only to break up with him an hour later when she found him kissing Rebecca Van hove at midnight with enough tongue to contradict his protest that it was a friendly peck. Deep thought again when she still had no answer how she'd gotten from the plane to her bedroom.  She squeezed her eyes shut in horror when she remember everything.

She sat up and swiped at her wet cheeks realizing the wet sensation was result of all the drool on her pillow. Great as if she needed to feel any worse.

Nagdecide na lang siya bumaba habang pababa sa hagdan ay hinahanda na niya ang kanyang paliwanag sa kanya mama tungkol sa nangyari at sa hindi matutuloy na kasal.

Habang papalapit siya sa kusina ay narinig nya ang masayahing boses ng kanyang mama at isang pamilyar na boses ng isang lalaki.

".. Hindi nagkukwento sa. Amin si Cora" her mother saying as Cora approached the kitchen.

" it's okay ma'am " a man  said.

"There she is" Francy Waddell Exclaimed.

Na shock siya sa kanyamg nakita Ang kanyang lola na may malaking ngiti, ang kanyang daddy pero angmas nakakagulat ay si Mr. Mata.

Si Mr.Mata yung nakatabi nya sa eroplano ay nakaupo sa kanilang dining table with her parents and lola.

She turned around and decided to go back in her room

"Cora" her mom shout "Saan ka pupunta?Halika dito introduce mo sa amin officially ang Fiancee mo"

"Cora come back now. You're being incredibly rude"

She cringed. Totoo na nga ito. Hindi na sya nanaginip.

Cora turned around and walked back into the kitchen. Anong ginagawa dito ni Mr . Mata? Ano kaya angnmga sinabi nito sa magulang nya.

He jumped out of his seat and walked over to her "Babe? Kamusta na ang pakiramdam mo?"

She looked at him dumbfounded. Why he's smiling like that? Scratch that. Why was he calling her babe?  "What the... How did you get here?"

"We picked him up from the airport and Tanner told us what happen" her mother said her voice light and breezy again.

"He told us that you got airsick when you flew to Phoenix last year and as preventive measure you took Dramamine on this trip. Dapat nakita mo kung paano ka alagaan ni Tanner habang papalabas kayo ng Airport. " She gave Tanner a look of approval.

"Wait. Tanner..?"

" I told them how you insist on calling me Tyler even though my name is Tanner" Mr. Mata put an arm around Cora's back his hand resting in her hip, warm and surprisingly comforting.

She shook her head "what?" Is this a joke?

"Babe you must still of of it. Nasabi na din sa akin ng parents mo ang mga wedding preparations and plans. I want it to be remarkable too"

Hindi na nga siya nanaginip, binabangungot siya. 

"Why didn't you bring this young man home sooner pumpkin ? " her father asked "i can tell he's going to fit right in this family"

Was that supposed to be a good thing.

"And he got a cute patootie" her grandmother added "i think you kids call it ass"

"Gram!" Cora protested in shock.

Tanner laughed "Funny. Cora was saying the same thing today in the airport"

Cora didn't take her gaze off Tanner for a moment her temper about to blow "I don't know what you think you're doing-----"

Before she realized what is happening he cupped her cheeks and kissed her. His lips is soft but insistent. If this was a dream she decided she wasn't ready to wake up.

Tanner lifted her face looking slightly dazed for a moment "Sorry" before he turned to her family still holding her in his arms and murmured "I just love her so much I can't stop myself sometimes"

"Awww.." Her mother cooed.

Cora still speechless but this time for an entirely different reason.

Nang bigla bumukas ang pinto and nang lingunin ni Cora kung sino ang pumasok.

"Curtis" she broke free from tanner's hold and ran to her brother throwing her arms his shoulder.

"What are you doing here?" She asked surprised by how happy she was to see him.

"Rumor has it that my sister is getting married .so you're going to introduce me to the man you're  marrying in three days?"

"Actually... May gusto ako malaman nyo."

"Babe.. I know you're still irritated with me over our argument at the airport in Manila. But there's no reason to drag your family into it "

tiningna nya ito ano ba gusto palabasin ng isa na to.

"He's right Im still pissed at him and we need to get this straightened out" as she marched toward him and grabbed his wrist as she tugged him to the doorway.

"What the hell is happening here Mr. mata ?"she demanded " is this some kind of  joke?"

He shook his head. " No. A big misunderstanding"

Then Tanner Explained to her everything.

" Did my parents really buy the whole thing about me calling you Tyler even though your name is Tanner.?" She asked.

"Never questioned it"

"Kailangan natin magbreak !"

She and Tanner needed to stage an epic break up.

He placed his hands on her shoulders and gently rubbed it "You need to relax"

She brushed his away " I'll relax after we've broken up. And we 're breaking up tonight." And with that she stormed out the door.

Tanner stop her. " wait why are we breaking tonight?"

She hook her head " My mother party is perfect place and time to break up in front of all of her friends. There will be tons of witnesses to see i'm innocent and you are jerk."

"Don't you think you're hasty?"

"What?"

He clasped her hand between both his, giving her a sweet smile. " Kahit ano pa ang sabihin mo hindi ako makikipag break sayo "

"What the--" before she can react . he kissed her again pulling her flush against his body. His hand tangled in her hand and his tongue parted her lips with an intensity and urgency she hadn't expected.

"Uh.. Cora.." Her brother voice broke through her lust filled haze.

Curtis stood in the top of stairway. "I need to change" as he studied the wall his gaze returned to her "and you're in the way"

Tanner hands kept around her as he pulled her out of Curtis way.

"Sorry" he said sounding like he'd been caught doing something he wasn't supposed to do.

Curtis moved toward them looking into Tanner eyes "at least I know you love her." His eyes grow cold." Fair warning buddy. If I find out you hurt my sister in anyway, I'm going to kick your ass. Is that clear?"

Tanner Nod.

"Anyway. Cora mom is waiting for you. You don't want her to wait right"
