Chapter 2

6:00pm
It was close to bed time according to the hospital. Hannah and I were playing a board game before dinner.
"I win!" Hannah shouts and giggles. I laugh.
"Hannah, I'm glad I met you. I've never been this happy." I smile grabbing her hand. She smiles looking up at me.
"I'm glad I met you too Josh."she says.
*bell rings*
"Well it looks like we have to go to dinner." I sigh. Nurse Blake walked us down the hall towards the dinning hall. We get sat at our usual table then two other nurses bringing over plates of food. Tonight we got a slice of pizza with a cup of water and fruit.
"Hannah you never really told me why you ended up in here." I say looking over at here while eating the pizza. Hannah's eyes fill with fear and anxiety. She stops eating and she starts scratching at her arm. I move over to the side of the table she's on.
"Hannah calm down please!" I scream. Her breathing becomes heavy and tears fall down her face. I try pulling her arm away from her scratching but I was soon dragged away from her.
"Hannah!" I shout as the nurses drag me away from the situation and back to the red band dorm.
"Josh go to Hannah's room and stay in there while we get her and calm her down." Doctor Ashton says. I walk down the dark hall towards Hannah's room. I lay on her bed clutching the purple knitted blanket on the bed since it smells like her.
"Look at what you've done Josh!" The deep dark voice shouts in my head. I tighten my grip on the blanket shutting my eyes. "Please stop." I say aloud to the voice in my head. "You've probably ruined your chances of ever being anything to her Josh." The voice taunts me. Tears began to fall down my cheeks and onto the pillow.
All of the fighting with the voice made me feel exhausted. My eyes became heavy and I began to drift off to sleep.
8:30 pm
I wake up to the sound of heavy footsteps coming down the hall. Doctor Ashton walks into the room.
"Josh can you come help us get Hannah?" I shake my head and got up rubbing my tired eyes. "I feel bad."
"Why Josh?" Doctor Ashton questions.
"I caused her to freak out... I shouldn't have done that." I sadly say. Doctor Ashton puts his hand on my shoulder.
"Josh it'll be okay. We've been trying to get her to open up about it but that happens. Whatever happened to her has Hannah traumatized. Just help us take care of her okay Josh?" Doctor Ashton says as we reach the room Hannah is in.
"Okay sir I'll try my best."
"Okay well can you pick Hannah up and carry her to her room. Please stay in there with her she shouldn't be left alone." Doctor Ashton says. I slowly move Hannah's arm around my neck and put my other arm under her legs.
I walk out of the room carrying Hannah.
"Oh and josh it'll be fine if you cuddle with her but nothing else okay?" Doctor Ashton sternly says.
"Yes sir." I whisper to not wake Hannah up. I walk with Hannah in my arms back to her room. I laid her down on the bed and grabbed the purple blanket. I laid next to her and covered us with the blanket. I wrapped my arm around her waist and pulled her head close to my chest. Hannah cuddles closer to me. I kissed her on the head and drifted off to sleep.
