"Camila!" I heard my mother slur. "Get out of my house, you rat!"

I walked out my room and took a glance at her from where she was standing. An empty bottle of Southern Comfort in her hand and a slight imbalance in her already bad posture, you could clearly see how drunk she was.

She's had a drinking and a drug problem for years. Ever since my father and her got divorced.

I couldn't go to his house though, he was in New York for business.

She stared at me, disgust in her eyes. "Get out of my house you piece of shit! Don't you dare come back."

"Wouldn't want to, your drug dealers a bitch." I shrugged.

Without hesitation i grabbed my backpack and threw in some necessities, like my charger and toothbrush and shit. Once it was packed i grabbed my phone and scurried my way out the door.

I looked back at my mother disappointingly and slammed the door.

She'll never stop with this shit.

She never has.

I looked down at my phone and called Taya.

"Hello?"

"Hey, could you pick me up or are you busy with someone?" I asked after hearing a guys voice in the background.

"N-no, I'm on my way." She lets out, scurrying around on the other line, looking for her keys.

"You sure? I don't want to be an inconvenience." I added.

"Babe, inconvenience? You? No way in hell. You're my main priority kay? Gotta go, can't drive on the phone, be there in 5."

Beeeeeep

She pulled up in my driveway not long after.
Once i got in, she leaned in for a long hug to comfort me.

"Let's go, we need to watch movies and eat junk food. Just us, like always." She states after pulling away and revving the engine. I rolled my eyes at her. She looked back, smiled and winked before looking forward again.

The thought of my mother flashed through my mind and made me tense up a bit, i thought for a second I'd start crying, so did Taya. Which is why when i felt my eyes water she placed her hand over mine and held it tightly, stroking her thumb against my skin gently.

"It's okay bubs, it's going to be okay, i promise. I'm here." She consoled while still staring at the road ahead of us. "I'm always here."

I looked outside the window to the grey sky, "I hope. It hasn't been okay since-. You know what," I muttered.

"He loved you Mila, you loved him. You can keep blaming yourself." Taya said.

"I saw Ivy today."

Taya glanced over at me. "How is she?"

"She looks even worse since the last time i saw her. She wouldn't even look at me."
