Could be Worse

Jake's POV

The team is ok. The Casey girl is a little princess, Mary is loud, Max just got here, and Elizabeth is cute, I guess. The ninja left us to socialize for a little. We talked about were our beds would be. Elizabeth's was farthest from the door. I got the bed next to her closest to the window. Across from her was Mary, then Max, then closest to the door was Casey. "So..." I said, hoping to break the silence. Elizabeth walked out of the room. She keeps holding this sketch pad with her were ever she goes; she didn't even say were she was going. I don't know if you've noticed, but I have a pretty bad temper. I took medicine to calm myself down when I was little, but we couldn't afford to buy it anymore. "Are you guys excited to start training?" Said Mary with a huge smile. "I want to get it over fast. It sounds boring and I want to know what my elemental power is." Said Casey. "Well, it won't be that easy. I've been training since I was 3 and I haven't unlocked my true potential yet." Replied Mary. "Well, maybe I will before everyone. You never know." said Casey. Mary looked angry, but I knew better then to say anything.
Max's parents came and dropped off his stuff. Elizabeth walked in a few minutes later with cookies. Did she make them? "Thank you so much! They smell so good." Said Mary. Elizabeth didn't thank her, even I would have said your welcome. No, she just nodded and smiled. " Did you make these?" I asked. She nodded. I took 5 and shoved them all in my mouth. "These are really good." I said with a mouth full of cookies. Everyone laughed, but she just smiled. The girls and Max went to look around The bounty, Elizabeth was taking a shower. The bathroom was connected to the bedroom. I heard the shower turn off. She was changing in the bathroom, I'm not a perv. "So, I see you always carry that sketch pad around with you. Do you draw?" I asked. She didn't answer. "Hello? Knock twice if you can hear me." I told her. She knocked twice. "Good, why aren't you answering me?" She slid a piece of paper under the door that said "I can't." I sat with my back to the door."Why not?" I asked Way to harsh for the situation. She opened the door. I fell backwards into the bathroom. She held up a sign that said "I can't talk, it's something I've since I was little" I feel so bad. Damit Jake, why do you always have to ruin things. " I'm sorry I didn't know. I'm sorry I yelled, I loose my temper very easily." I said. I got red and embarrassed, and she saw. That made me angrier. I sat up. She knelt down to my level and put her had in my  cheek. She looked at me in my eyes very calmly and I wasn't angry anymore. She did something. Nothing with magic or anything like that, she just made me feel...safe. She took her note pad and wrote down something before she went to bed. I looked at it, it said " Call me Elise"
