Out Of Place

[Chapter Twenty-Five]

It has been two days since i told Gen about my feelings for Ally. Yesterday, i have decided that i'll tell her today, after school. And that's exactly what i did. At lunch, i told her to meet me at the back of the school after school. She was confused at first but she just said yes and not questioned me. 

When the bell rang indicating that the last class was over, i quickly ran out the room before anyone else could. Not even the teacher. I ran to the back of the school and quickly checked if my quiff is still okay.

 When i fixed my hair along with my clothes, i took my sketchbook and peeked at the first page which had my painting. I was quite surprised that it looked beautiful. I then closed it and waited for her.

It just took 5 minutes for Ally to finally arrive. I smiled widely at her and she smiled back. "Is something wrong?" She asked when she was close enough to me. "Nothing at all." I replied. "Then why are you sweaty? And it looks like your nervous." She pointed out.

 I touched my forehead with the back of my hand and i quickly felt the sweat. I wiped my hand on my pants and said, "No i swear it's nothing." Well, i wish it was just nothing. I took a deep breath and bit my bottom lip. 

"I just have to tell you something." I said and took the sketchbook. I opened it, showing my painting. It was a galaxy painting, mainly just violet, blue, indigo, and black with some small white dots that indicates the stars. But that's not all. On the middle of the painting, there was five words written in cursive. "I still like you, Ally."

 I glanced at my painting before i looked at Ally's reaction. Her eyes were wide as she examine the painting for a moment before she looked at me. "You... you still like me?" She said, her voice filled with amusement. Well, that's what i think. I blushed and nodded. "Yeah..." I whispered and looked down. 

Then suddenly, i felt her arms wrap around me, surprising me. My eyes when wide before i hugged back and smiled. "I... i like you too Luke." She said and my face lit up more. "R-really?!" I said. "But..." She stopped and i frowned. She then pulled away and continued. "I like Ashton more..." She said slowly. 

Of course. Ashton. How could i forget that she likes Ashton? I now felt my eyes sting a little and my vision blurred. "O-oh." I choked out. "Luke i'm sorry." She said. "It's... it's okay Ally." I said, looked up at her, and smiled weakly. "Just take this, okay?" I said and handed her the sketchbook. She nodded then hugged me again but the hug didn't last long.

"But we're still friends right?" I said, my voice cracking a little. She smiled and nodded. "Yeah. I'm still sorry Luke." She said again but i shook my head. "I said it's fine. Let's go home." I said and took my bag. I heard her sigh a little before she grabbed her bag that was previously on the floor. We then went to the front entrance of the school. 

When we were, we smiled awkwardly before we both parted ways. 

{Ally's POV}
I was shocked when i saw the words that were written on the paper. Everything clicked. I already had a feeling that he liked me but i thought it was impossible. Well, i guess it is. When i told him that i liked Ashton more, i saw his heart broke through his eyes. I still couldn't bare seeing him like this and i felt the punch of guiltiness. 

When i arrived home, i took the sketchbook and looked at his work. I was really impressed. I let my pointer finger trace the words. I then remembered when he tried copying my works when we were still in a relationship.

 I sighed and closed the sketchbook before i lay on the sofa. I then rubbed my eyes with my palm. I still can't believe that he liked me. But the most thing that i can't believe is my feelings for Ashton. I finally confirmed that i liked Ashton more than Luke. I just hope that Luke won't tell anyone especially Ashton himself. 

{Luke's POV}
I arrived home and quickly went to my room. I lied on my bed, closed my eyes, and took a deep breathe before releasing it. I really hope my confession didn't affect our friendship. I hope i didn't made it all awkward. And i really really hope that i won't accidentally tell Ashton about her feelings.
