Chapter 6

Mark

Pulling into the drive way I noticed another car beside my mums, I looked through the window seeing if anyone was in the living room.

To my expectation no one was to be seen. I sighed and got out of the truck throwing the strap of my backpack over my shoulder. The closer I got to the door the more I could here talking coming from the kitchen. I couldn't quite make out what they were saying obviously who ever was talking they didn't want any other vampires to here.

And what other great disturbance to our listening than the all mighty water faucet. I unlocked the door as quiet as possible, but they still wouldn't here me the water is in the way.

I sped threw the living room into the kitchen and threw him across to the other wall.

"Mark!! Where are your manners he is our guest." I hissed at Conner barring my fangs at him.

I blocked off mum from his sight and reached turning off the water fountain.

"What do you want Connor." I was breathing heavily trying to keep my composure.

"I simply came to warn you and your mom." He spoke.

"He said that Aaron is here and is after some girl." I tensed, my breathing became hard.

I the blink of an eye I was on his side grabbing hold of his neck, "You tell Aaron to stay away from her. She's mine and only mine." I tightened my grip and continued as he clawed at my hands.

"She is under my protection therefore you will have to kill me first." He opened his mouth but couldn't form a word.

I let go, before he hit the ground he was gone.

"Mark how could you he was going to help us!" Mum threw me across the room slamming me into the wall making a hole.

I slid down and coughed, she may be 140 years old but she's still got it.

"He was never going to help us mom, that's Aaron's boyfriend do you really think he'd betray Aaron." She stayed silent as I stood up dusting the rubble from my pants and hair.

"You're right I'm sorry." I sighed and walked to her giving her a big hug. Not even five seconds she pushed me away giving me the look.

You know that look when you know you're about to get in trouble. Yeah that look.

"Who is this girl that is under your protection." She watched me carefully as I sighed.

"Mum she's a Taylor..." I trailed off looking at her eyes darken.

"A Taylor?!?" She paused running her fingers through her hair obviously frustrated.

"A Taylor!! Do you know how many vampires what them dead." I looked down staying silent.

"I know mum, but she's amazing nothing like her mother now."

"And she's funny, loving, I've had dreams that were so real I thought I could reach out and touch her."

"She's the one mum." She sighed.

"Mark you know the kind of power Taylor's have."

"I know mum but she's a human! The whole family is except for the mum." She rolled her eyes and walked away not saying another word.

She knew I was only going to make up excuses for why she wasn't like her mother.

I went up stairs and grabbed a couple things that might help Renee with her research.
