Steve hated being small again. It brought back bad memories and, unfortunately, his previous heath state. He had always ended up takeing some sort of pills at some point every week. His colds were oftin awful, and he looked like a zombie when he had the flu. So, when Steve was stripped of the serum and his health decreased, he had to restart that old routine for the week he would be his old self. But, it embarrassed him, he was supposed to be the big guy, the team leader, the one who litteraly punched death in the face and flipped it off. So he hid his use of the pills from the team, not wanting to seem any more week. Sadly, the currant villian situation ended up giving him minor anxiety, haveing not being able to do anything if he attacked again. So he used cash to get some anxiety pills. He had kept the use of them away from the team for two days when he ended up feeling an attack coming on, and slinking to the bathroom for some pills. Unfortunately, Tony chose today to worry about people.
"Hey Steve, are you ok? Holy crap! Are those pills!?" Tony said, coming into the bathroom just as Steve hrew his head back to swallow. He almost choked on  the pills when Tony spoke.
"Holy crap! Don't do that! You scared the shit out of me!" Steve sighed, leaning againsed the counter.
"Are. Those. Pills? I have done some stupid shit, but come on Steve!" Tony begun, about to go into a rant about 'not in this tower' shit.
"Tony! Calm down! They're for anxiety! See?" He jumped in, tossing the pills to Tony who seemed to relax after reading the lable. "I may be stressed, but I will never do drugs. You should know that." Steve finished.
"Why would you need these?" Tony asked, calmly and soothingly this time.
"I-I... without the serum, I have realy shitty heath. The whole not being able to help with Loki thing doesn't help. The whole situation has givin the wimp in front of you minor anxiety." Steve explained, snatching the pulls from Tony and pocketing them.
"Steve-" Tony started, only to be cut off by Steve snapping.
"Tony please! I don't want sympathy. I just want the serum back. Don't tell the others about my current heath state please." Steve sighed.
"Ok. But is there anything else I should know about? Just in case?" Tony asked.
"Asthma. Realy bad colds that are quite frequant. That's about it. But drop it please." Steve stated blankly, as if he remembered doing this over and over before the serum. Tony nodded and let Steve go back to his room. He wouldn't say anything for him.

Steve sighed as he walked out of his room. Jarvis had informed him that he had to come out and eat, so he reluctantly opened the door. Not prepared in the slightest for the looks he was undoubtedly gonna get. Steve said nothing but a quick Thankyou before he started eating. Thor, being the giant teddy bear that he is, worried for his deflated friend. It wasn't only size, but personality that had shrunk with Steve. Thor clapped Steve on the sholder, sending him forward slightly and makeing him flinch, but he spoke anyway.
"My comrade! You are not your useual self. What else could possibly be wrong?" Thor asked in his loud voice. Steves eyes remained on his plate.
"Everything Thor, everything." Steve sighed, going back to his meal. Now everyone was worried. It wasn't just smaller in size, something was wrong emotionally.
"Talk to us, Steve." Peter said quietly and assureingly, putting his hand on Steves other sholder.
"I'm fine." Steve stated firmly, trying despretly to keep everyone out of his field of vision.
"No, your not. Steve, we understand this is hard for you, but you need to talk to us." Bruce stated soothingly.
"We are here for you." Natasha smiled.
"You know what I did in army camp? Before the serum? I threw myself on a granade. The general threw a granade at some of us and wile everyone else ran, I jumped on it. Figure that if I was gonna die, then I might as well keep the shrapnel contained. It ended up being a test and a dud, but still. There aren't any grenades around right now. But that's all I'm good at when I look like this. Getting beat up and throwing myself at things. I need to get that serum back. I forgot how much I hated this me. But, at least this me won't get bucky in another hydra bace. If loki shows up before I'm me again. You make sure you live and put him back in his cell." Steve stated nipumbly, putting his plate in the sink and walking back to his room. Everyone just sat there, shocked, for a moment before rushing after him. Natasha was the first one there, so she instantly threw her arms around Steve. Even avengers needed a hug sometimes. She felt Steve tence before he leaned into her and relaxed, excepting the much needed hug.
"Steve. You can so so much like this. Your a compact you!" Natasha soothed. Steve shook his head.
"No, I can't. I spent my entire life like this struggling not to get sick. I can't run or fight for long, asthma, can't go outside in the cold, chronic colds. Hell, I ended up in the hospital a couple times from a fever that got realy bad. I am nothing like this." Steve sighed. Natasha was shocked for only a moment before lightly smacking him on the back of the head.
"Don't you ever think of yourself like that! This is temporary. Do you know how many lived ps you helped save!? You saved the world practicaly on your own before any of us were even a thought. You then proseded to perfectly adapt to a world after your time and saved the world again from the same agency when it was just you, me, and Sam againsed the world. You saved the world twice before the avengers were created, at least 12 times after that so far. Let this experience be a humbling, lesson learning one. Not one where you just sit around and mope!" Natasha lectured. Steve sat there, stareing at her slightly wide eyed.
"Thankyou, Nat." Steve smiled, hugging her again.
"No problem, brat." Natasha smiled. "Now stop sniveling and go put a movie on, solder!" Natasha laughed, usureing him out of his room and to the living room. Everyone smiled to see Steve was clearly feeling better. Maybe being the little guy wasn't a bad thing after all.

A/N: I do not approve of drugs or alcohol abuse. I think everyone can find a different way around or preferably through their problems.
