Today was the day of the trial, and wile the avengers were ready, Loki was not. He wasnt told of his trial, so when the guards came to his cell, he q as internally panicking.
"Loki." One of the guards spoke, startling Loki from his sleep.
"What? Oh... what do you need? I doubt I can be of much use." Loki asked. He was confused. The guards never spoke to him.
"Your being given a retrial. Place your wrists neer the barrier." The second guard ordered firmly. Loki raised his eyebrows as he did as he was told. A retrial? Why? He was pulled from his thoughts as a guard slapped a pair of enchanted cuffs around his wrists to both bond him and prevent him from using his magic. Another guard then stepped into the cell and fastened a musle over his mouth. They were clearly taking no chances. The barrier disappeared and loki was ushered out of the cell roughly. The guards then pushed and shoved him out of the dungeon and towards the throne room. He didn't resist inbthe slightest, he was to buisy thinking of all the awful things he could be punished with. What if he was given to that snake again? Loki gulped and chewed on his lip behind the musle. So much pain...As the avengers walked into the throne room and bowed before taking a seat, they all became nervous. None of them had ever been in a court room before, and even if they were not th e ones on trial, it was nerve racking. They were all rather comfortable in asgardian clothes, but then there was Fury. He didnt like not being hidden in his coat. Wile everyone wore things similar to what thwy qore at the party, Fury had gone with a red long sleeved shirt that had tan leather up to about an inch before the elbow and down to his wrists. There was gold accenting and it waa rather soft. He wore a black cape with red and gold accenting and some simple black pants with a red three to stitch it together. He also wore black boots with silver accenting to make them less plain. His capeclasped around the coller of his shirt and acted as more of a cloak. He felt so wrong in color. His eyebatch remained and he was unfortunately not aloud to carry a weapon. Nobody was. It took some fighting, but Natasha didn't even have a knife! The entire room silenced as Loki was pushed in. He even keeled before his father without fuss. Odin remained internally superized. As Loki stood, his eyes could be seen as rather wide. His knees felt weak.
"Loki," Odin boomed in a very authoritative tone. "You are quite aware of your crimes, as is everyone in this room, but i am granting you a retrial apon the advisement of Heimdall. He has spoken of a sudden change in your behavior, so i have decided to see for myself." Loki gulped as he looked his father in the eye. He was sure Odin saw the feat in his eyes, but he couldn't mask it in the slightest. Loki merely nodded in response, knowing he couldn't have spoken even if he wasnt musled. "As Heimdall is currently guarding the nine realms, i have called apon those who have witnessed this event first hand, the avengers, my first born son, and Nick Fury. I first call apon Tony Stark to speak his experience. I will note, that a spell of my own casting will be placed on you to ensure truth in your words." Odin boomed, gesturing a hand to a pre-placed chair beside him. Tony gulped and nodded, standing and walking over to the throne, sitting down in the chair beside him. Odin then quickly flicked his wrist and a thin spindle of golden and smokey magic was sent over to him, surrounding his head for a moment before dissapearing. Tony shook his head and blinked a couple times before looking to Odin, waiting to revive a nod before beginning to speak. He explained everything he saw ti the detail, not even trying to lie. He did find, however, that he couldn't exadurate. It was only after Tony had finished speaking that Odin asked a question.
"And what is your evidence of your claims?" Odin asked, raising his eyebrow.
"Well, aside from litteral hhhh not being able to lie right now, I have these." Tony stayed, standing for a moment to reach behind the chair and pick up the two boxes. "The two previously described components that pushed their way out of Loki after Thor hit him with his hammer." Tony stated, taking a risk and opening the h ox with the worm and pulling it out by the tail end. It suddenly began wriggling and tony almost dropped it out of supprize. Loki's eyes widened and he took an involuntary step back. He gulped again as he remembered what that thing had made him do. He let out an almost silent noise of discomfort that nobody but him heard. "This is the worm thingy... I honestly thought this thing would be dead..." tony continued, dropping the thing back in the box and slamming the lid on it after Odin had a good look at it and pulled open the next box, grabbing the spider like chip in two fingers and ensuring that it would be going nowhere. " and this is the creepy chip thay crawled out of his neck. Oh... oh dear. This ones alive to... ugh." Tony f innished and gave Odin a good look of the now squirming object in his hand before dumping it in its bin again. He stacked the bins and placed them beside the chair before sitting again.
"In that case, one more question. Do you believe my adoptive son's tale?" Odin asked. Tony was taken aback, why would he need to know that?
"I... ya know, despite everything thats happened, the change in Loki was so drastic that, yes, I do believe him. But although it would take a lonb time to trust him, I do believe him." Tony said, not only suprizing himself, but loki aswell. Loki's eyes widened before he furrowed his brows in confusion. He believed him?
"You may return to your seat. I now call Bruce Banner to the stand." Odin boomed after flicking his wrist and allowing the golden smoke of magic return to his hand. Tony shook his head to clear it as he stood, walking over to sit beside Bruce before he stood.
"Does it hurt?" Bruce asked nervously. Tony smiled and shook his head.
"No. It just feels realy, realy wierd." Tony stated. "Now go on you bi ggreement oaf." Tony said, nudgeinf a slightly calmer Bruce out of his seat. His story matched well and his evedance was the same. In fact, bruce was asked the same question about believing Loki, and he acctualy agreed with Tony. Next up was Steve. He let out a gulp as he walked up to the stand. He didnt like people to manipulate his mind, but this was one instance he would have to put up with. He let out a groan as the magic surrounded him. It was quiet and more out of discomfort than pain. He told his story and admitted that he did not remember some of what had happened due to being under the spell. His evidence was the story's of Bruce, Tony, and Fury. Natasha, Thor, Peter, and Clint all told the same story. They all agreed that they believed Loki's story. Every time someone spoke, Loki became more and more superized at answers. After everything he had done... and although h blushed every time someone told of Thor needing to comfort him, loki was greatful for all of their words. He did, however, doubt it would make much of a difference in his punishment. Fury spoke his tale in detail, saying his evedance was Bruce and Tony's presence. He surprisingly believed the story to, saying that it wasnt rare for Hydra to take advantage of someone like that, and that their tech was definitely capable of taking control of Loki like they did. But he did clarify that he did not trust him in any way. Just like the rest, Fury was freed from the spell and was alowed to retern to his seat. Something that superized everyone though, was what Odin said next.
"I now call Loki to the stand." Odin boomed. Loki's bowed head snapped up to look at his father. His eyes were wide and he looked like a scared child despite his height. His stare quickly flicked to the chair, and then the guards. He gulped and slowly made his way forward, waiting for someone to stop him. He managed to let himself sit, being rather fence he might say. Loki flinched slightly when his father snapped his fingers and the musle popped off. He simply held it in his lap and let his still bound hands curl around it. He didnt meet his fathers eye. When thw golden magic curled around his head, Loki flinched and winced. Clearly a truth spell and a hhhh of of lies don't mix easily. He had a head ache when the spell settled in. His lip qas bleeding slightly, but he didnt even notice. "I trust that you can fill in the very beginning of the story?" Odin spoke in a questioning tone. Loki nodded beforw he began to tell the story of what he had dreamed. His hands held tighter and tighter around the musle with every word as ro keep them from shaking. He teared up at some points, but he shoved it down. He was struggling. When he f innished his story, he went against judgement and added to it.
"I don't know what either of those... those things did spasificly, but I know that no matter how hard I tried to resist, that I was forced to do things I would never want to do. I know that for being so weak... for doing what i qas forced to do... I deserve all of the awful things that are no doubt coming to me. But I want to apologize for everything... everything I did Wile i have the chance. I'm sorry. I'm so, so sorry..." Loki f innished, looking down at his lap once more. As the spell was removed, Loki hissed in a slight amount of pain. He did ensure that very few heard it though. He held out the musle to a guard as he stood, standing still and allowing them to replace it. No use in fighting it. He alowed himself to be roughly shoved back to stand in front of his father again. He bent his head and awaited his enevitable punishment. It was probubly life imprisonment, or maybe the snake. Or death. Or maybe he would be stripped of all power and stranded in the Ile od silence. He shivered at all the thoughts running through his head. The suspence continued to build as Odin thought. Loki flinched when he began.
"Loki. With so much to prove your imprisonment within your own mind, I find it hard to deny that this tale is true." Odin began. Lol is heart jumped for a moment only for it to come crashing down. "But you were under the control of someone very evil for a long time." Loki shoulders slumped. "So, until i can be sure that this evil hasn hasn't made an impression on you, i believe you need to be around good, so that any evil may be washed away. So who better than some of those who stand in the room now." Loki furrowed his brows." Until i can be sure that you are your old self, Loki, you are being exiled to earth to stay with the avengers in hopes that you can once again become the god we once knew and trusted." Odin finnished. Loki's eyes widened and his head once again snapped up to look at his father. He then glanced over at the wide eyed avengers. Thor was beaming, Steve, Natasha, Clint, Fury, and Clint were all speachless, Peter was trying and failing to force words out of his throat and Tony was glancing between Odin, Loki, and his friends, blubbering on and protesting enough. Once again, the musle fell away from Loki mouth and he scrambled to catch it before he looked around the room with wide eyes and a slightly open mouth. "You leave tomorrow morning. Avengers, Loki, Fury, you are to stay here with me to smooth our details. Everyone else may clear out in an orderly fashion. This trial is over." Odin boomed, hold in his head high as he watched everyone -excluding those he called apon to stay- leave.
