This chapter is dedicated to my best friend, Dottie! She has always been there for me.
Chapter. 2: My Best Friends
Friends. They are the people you can act crazy around and they won't care. You can tell secrets to them knowing they won't repeat it to anyone. They make you smile and laugh and they are always there for you no matter what.
For me, I was my own friend. No one really talked to me at lunch. No one likes to sit next to me on the bus. Old friends don't talk to me anymore. So it's just me, myself, and I.
Well it was until Dottie Davison came into my life.
Dottie Davison is a beautiful girl that is super nice but can be mean if she wants to. But, she's never mean to me. Dottie is new at our school. She came from Manhattan Middle.
How did we meet? Well, it all started on the first day of school. I had foreign cultures, and I had lunch in that class. She had foreign cultures with me, so that means lunch too. I was sitting there, all by myself. Then she cam up to my table and asked, "Do you mind if I sit here?" I shook my head no. She sat right in front of me. She sat beside me everyday after that. We talked to each other about everything. I've never had someone that I've trusted so much before like I trusted her. She was my best friend.
That was last seimester. This seimester, we have gym and lunch together. On our first day, we make 3 new friends. Lizzy, Suzy, and Alicia. We all eat lunch together.
We are inseparable.
How did this happen to a silent girl like me? Well, they make me laugh and I absolutely love them. We eat lunch everyday together and we get in the lunch line together and we enjoy each others company.
"Olivia!!" I heard Suzy say as she shook me a little. I've just been caught daydreaming again. "Who are you so lost in daydreaming about? Is it a GUY??? " she asked.
I just smiled and said, "Don't we all daydream about a guy sometimes? " "Oh, I know I do! " says Dottie. We all laugh because we know Dottie is falling for the bad boy of 7th grade, Isaac.
"So, who is this guy?", asks Lizzy. "Well I don't really like him...but he's like my best friend so I feel wrong for seeing him...like that...even if I'm not sure if I like him like that. You know? ", I say.
They all look at each other and the awkward silence makes us burst out laughing.
"Um, you kind of lost me at the best friend part! ",says Suzy still kinda laughing. "Okay well, you know what I mean. I just, I'm not ghat sure if I like him or not."
Just then Suzy accidentally knocked over her peaches and it landed around a piece of bread on her tray. "Ewwwwwwwwwwwwwwwww!!! " we all say at the same time. "Omigosh! It kind of looks like an island!", says Alicia as she picks some lettuce from her salad and puts it around the island, too. We all laugh.
"It needs....this!", says Dottie as she stickes a piece of brocoli in the center of the bread. "Its a tree!"screams Suzy.
Well, this is just one crazy thing that happens throughout our day. Exciting? I thought so.

As we walk to gym together, we all talk to each other. We laugh and talk and dance (even though I can't dance, Alicia can though. She takes dance!). But I love my friends and wouldn't trade a day without them. And when I'm with anybody else, its so hard to be myself. But with them its so easy.
As soon as we go around the corner, we all run to the gym doors, and then run through them to the bleechers.
A lot of people see me as a girl that doesn't talk that much. My friends see me as a person who talks just enough. They say that other people are "missing out on my voice ".
But, for a reason that I'm not aloud to say at this stage, I've been a little too quiet this week. And no one was being that nice to me.
What's wrong you might ask....well...never judge a book by its cover.
