CHAPTER 19

Sue's POV

"Im really,really sorry sir about what happened yesterday,I'm sorry na hindi na ako nakabalik sa trabaho kahapon,it's just because."I told him in the moment I put the coffee on his table while I looked at him worried sick.

"Aveline,what did I told you about calling me Sir or Boss,just Mateo,it's okay,tayo lang naman dalawa nandito eh,but for what happened yesterday is definitely fine,no need to worry,pinayagan naman kita eh,kaya wag ka ng mag-alala you should probably act like that if you sneak out with him without any of my knowings."he told me calmly while he seats on his massive chair comfortably and sipping some of his coffee.

Tignan niyo,parang ang layo lang ata ng personality niya sa ibig sabihin na personality ni James kay Sir.Mateo he's very kind and understanding far from what James sounded like who he is.

I sighed heavily,I think he just did that because of his unbearable jealousy towards Sir.Mateo,I came out from my reverie when Sir.Mateo suddenly spoke.

"Aveline?are you okay?nakatulala ka lang ata jan?"he said while he chuckled gently.

"Ay,uhmm,sorry Sir,I mean Mateo"then I shake my head para maalis sa isipan ko yung mga iniisip ko na hindi naman importante"I should probably finish my work now,Thank you so much for your understanding,I shall go."naiilang kong sabi sakaniya sabay nagmadali akong naglakad palabas pero hindi ko pinapahalata sakaniya.

Habang babad na babad nanaman ako sa trabaho ko at medyo tambak tambak na sa pag-arrange ng mga schedule niya sa meetings at sa mga kailangan niyang puntahan na events and stuff like that,Ako na din yung nag-aayos sa mga script niya para sa mga incomming interviews kaya hindi kataka-taka na naabutan nanaman ako ng break time namin.

"Aveline,are you done there?let's go let's have some a lunch na,balikan mo na lang yan mamaya."sabi niya sakin habang nakasandal siya patalikod sa lamesa ko while his arm are crossed over his chest and his gazed is locked on what I'm doing.

"Sige,aayusin ko lang to saglit and were ready to go."sabi ko habang inaarrange ko na yung mga files sa tamang lugar para hindi magkalat nung biglang may nagsalita at sabay kami ni Mateo napalingon sakaniya.

"I think that's not gonna happen."he said it emotionlessly while he is holding a paper bag and definitely pagkain ang laman niyan dahil sa napakabangong amoy neto.

"James!ano nanaman tong ginagawa mo!?"gulat na gulat kong sabi to the point na napatayo ako sa pagkaupo ko while I furrowed my brows together and stared at him intently.

"Isn't it obvious?I'd cooked for your lunch."then he scoffed and rolled his eye at me as if I just asked the most nonsense question in the world before he put the paper bag into my table.

"Your so despicable!"pabulong kong sabi sakaniya sabay tinignan lang niya ako ng "WHAT" look niya na parang wala siyang alam sa mga ginagawa niya..I turn my head towards Mr.De Lucca before I changed my expression to an innocent one."I'm really sorry Sir but I think I can't go with you for lunch?"I smiled at him with guilt.

He sighed in disappointment then looked at me like he is begging for me to come with him."so sad,i-te treat pa naman kita sana dun sa favorite restaurant ko dun sa Moon Dinners Restaurant."tapos ngumiti siya sakin ng pilit"but it's okay if you already made your choice."

"By the way I wan-"hindi natapos ang sasabihin ni James nung biglang nagsalita si Mr.De Lucca.

"Can you just stop joining to someone's conversation please,that's a bad habit."he said in the most manly way while his both hands are on his pocket before he turned back at James.

James take a deep breath trying to stop his urge to punch Mateo on his face."I just want to let you know that you don't need to bring her there cause I already did that a thousand times."sabay humarap siya sakin at kinindatan ako.

"As if I'm asking."Mateo said without giving a second glance.

"I don't care if you don't ask me,but just so you know,that the favorite restaurant that you are saying?is another thing I owned,so please,kung babalik ka man dun just tell me and I'll guarantee this to you that you'll have fifty percent discount."sabay napalingon sakaniya si Mr.De Lucca dahil sa gulat at mukhang nayayabangan at ang ginawa lang ni James sakaniya ay kinindatan na parang nang-aasar.

"James!"naiinis kong pabulong sakaniya habang hinihila ko yung braso niya.

"Is that so?"sabay naglakad si Mateo papalapit kay James that makes my heart beat fast.

Oh no!sana hindi to magiiscandalo dito.

"James,I will say this one last time to you,stop it."nang-gigil kong sabi sakaniya habang hinihigpitan ko yung hawak sa braso niya.

But he just ignored my words,I think this guy won't let his ego down."You heard me right."he said it in a serious tone while the both of them are in there own ready to fight posture.

"Of course."then Mateo chuckled sarcastically while he stared at James mocking him."Just wanted to say thank you."then he tapped James's shoulder na agad naman pinigilan ni James at tinignan siya ng masama.

"Both of you stop this childish act right now!"sabay ipinaghiwalay ko yung dalawa nilang kamay"And you,James!can you just stop acting like you always wanted a fight,walang ginagawa yung tao sayo kaya please,wag ka ng mang-gulo!palagi na lang eh!"sabay inirapan ko siya at hinila ko palayo kay James si Sir.De Lucca sabay huminga ako ng pasensya sakaniya."Sir,I'm really sorry,I didn't expected any of this...."

"I told you,stop calling me Sir okay!"sabay inalis niya yung kamay niya sa pagkahawak ko at naglakad na palayo sakin na parang galit or what.

Kaya agad akong naglakad papalapit kay James ready to give him a lecture nung inunahan na niya ako."You don't have to asked me to leave,I'll go."sabay naglakad na siya paalis kaya agad ko siyang pinigilan.

"What are you doing?aba ikaw pa yung may ganang magalit?"pero hindi lang niya ako pinansin at inalis din niya  yung kamay niya sa pagkahawak ko.

"I am the one who always there for you and then you shouted at me as if I didn't do anything right or good to you,But don't worry I understand and I'm sorry for acting so immature and childish,I'm just trying to protect you."sabi niya sakin na hindi lumilingon at pagkatapos ay naglakad na siya palayo sakin.

"What do you mean about that trying protect me?"I asked him in confusion but he just ignored my question and just continued walking towards the elevator.

Sinundan ko siya pero huli na ako dahil pasara na yung pintuan ng elevator at in one last second I caught him staring at me with full of disappointment and pain in his eyes that leaves me confused and worried and because of frustration ay bumalik na lang ako sa desk ko sabay umupo at napaface palm na lang sa mga nangyayari at napabuntong hininga.

"What does he mean?bakit niya ko kailangan protektahan?pro-protektahan niya ko saan?"all of that questions leave me in complete confusion,trying to puzzle out his action and words towards me and in the same I feel guilty for shouting at him and acted so unappreciative to his efforts.

I'm such a mess.
