I was awake since 6.30 in the morning, debating whether or not seeing Kent today would be a good idea, I mean skipping school? That's not me? But for him, it could be me.

By the time I got dressed, my mind was made, I was going to do this, I was going to skip school and see where this leads me in terms of Kent.

"crap" I said shocked by a vibration in my pocket,

'hey beautiful, wanna hang out? You owe me remember? ;)‘ I read the message three times before realising who it was. And just like that all thoughts of Kent slipped away into the twisted abyss of my deepest thoughts.

"Cole" I uttered.

My mum summoned me downstairs so that I wouldn't be late for the bus. A bus that I wouldn't be going on anytime today.

.......

Before I knew it I was out the door and carefully placing one foot in front of the other, hiding my deep, gut wrenching feeling that someone would catch me. Soon enough all these paranoid thoughts melted as my eyes set and fixed on Kent. I took a moment to admire him, his laid back vibes that he radiated, his confidence and his very being there made my knees weak. But I'd made up my mind that this is what I was going to do and I was going to throw myself into it, like I did with everything that challenged me.

I approached him slowly, my head buried deep in a dark grey hoodie.

"Hey" I said sternly, trying to give a façade of confidence, I couldn't show him I was scared.

He jumped a little as he brought his eyes up to my stiff body. He squinted, trying to male out who it was buried so deep beneath the clothing.

"Jewel's?" he asked

I thrusted my head forward, escaping from the hoodie and allowing my hair to flow freely.

" Are we going or what?" I said grinning

He looked at me for a while before replying

" I don't think I've ever seen you like this." he began

"like what?" I asked curiously

"I don't think I've ever seen that look in your eyes, a need for excitement almost" he said, obviously feeling proud at his observation.

" Don't be so analytic, come on I'm anxious to get out of here." I expressed impatiently.

"Alright" he said chuckling "Alright, follow me".

He slung our his skateboard and laid it beneath his feet, then he turned around and pulled out a blue penny board and lay it next to me.

" Your trusty stead, my lady " he said in a ridiculous British accent.

" Kent? Are you kidding with me? A penny board?" I asked trying to contain my excitement.

" No, I'm not kidding, I bought a couple years back and just never found the right moment to give it you."

"give it to me? I can't-  I.... didn't get you anything-" I said in shock as I started to grow frantic.

"shh" he rest his index finger on my lips softly " it's my gift to you, you can thank me later. Now come on,  I want to show you something" he said as he put one foot on his skateboard.

" wait! Kent"

he turned around worried at the tone in my voice.

" thank you, really, thank you" I said sincerely touched by his gesture.

I lost control and before I knew it I was standing on my toes, stretching my neck out and pushing my lips toward his. He met my lips, and we embraced for what seemed to be a lifetime.
