Chapter Five

Sasha | Monday | 6:45 am

Welp, I moved here on Friday and get to go to school on Monday. How great is that?

Mateo and I have been talking all weekend. He's pretty funny. I even talked to him as I watched Supergirl. If I do that, that's how you know your either special or amusing.

He's amusing.

I turned off my alarm and got up stretching. I went into the bathroom and did my business and washed my hands before brushing my teeth and washing my face. I headed back out and went into my closet.

It's my first day and I didn't have anyone to impress so I decided on something simple; a pair of light washed jeans, a blue crop top with the S on it from Superman & Supergirl and my blue converse. After taking a shower and putting on my clothes I flat ironed my hair and voila I was ready with 20 minutes left to spare.

I grabbed my bookbag and my phone before going downstairs. As soon as I got to the bottom the door was unlocking and mom was coming in.

Mom: Good morning.

Me: Morning.

Mom: You look good today.

I smiled and sat on the steps.

Me: Trying to tell me I look horrible every other?

She shrugged while handing me a bag from McDonald's.

Mom: Sometimes.

Me: Yay. Thank you!

Nova came running down the stairs.

Mom: So school begins at 8:55 and ends at 3:45. Okay?

Me: Okay.

After finishing my breakfast and taking Nova out I was finally in my Jeep driving towards the school. It wasn't bad looking infact it looked like it had just been built not even ten years ago. I parked and looked around. I grabbed my phone and messaged Mateo.

Do you text during school? -Sasha Dean ; 8:20 am

I almost instantly got a message back.

Yea. Why? -Mateo Bowles ; 8:21 am

Im at a new school where I know nobody which means im hella nervous. If it's not too much to ask, could we message during school? -Sasha Dean ; 8:22 am

yea we can do that 😏 -Mateo Bowles ; 8:23 am

Relief flood through me as I hopped out my Jeep with my bookbag on one shoulder and my earphones in my ears. I quickly locked my Jeep and headed towards the school. I got a few glances which made me duck my head low and send a text to Mateo.

Geeesh, I swear its like a movie lol. People are steadily looking at me. 😩 -Sasha Dean ; 8:26 am

I opened the school doors and went in.

Im trying. I finally made it inside the school w/out passing out 😭 -Sasha Dean ; 8:28 am

I found the office and went inside. There was a student behind the desk.

Me: This is the office right?
