School ended that day, a little sooner than I expected. For some reason, it almost seemed as if the teachers were trying to keep the students there longer than needed, and though the logic in its own way felt understandable, seeing as there was a killer out there and all, I had no plan about sticking around any longer than I had to, since I practically hated the place.

However, I was a little surprised by the fact that Samantha never informed me of the ordeal we were facing. She was an investigator, for God's sake, so it would only come as a natural for her to know of it, yet she never told me. We were never the kind of people to watch the news on the televisions, mainly because everything that occurred in town was publicly known of even before the reporters were able to make the headlines. If some woman had an affair behind her husband's back, then it would instantly come out as common knowledge, not that anyone would really care, except the husband, that is.

Although, when there was a killer on the spree right in front of our noses, it kinda did make me wonder what made her keep the information personally unspoken of in our home. Did she expect me to already know about it? Maybe. For whatever cause, I decided to let that thought pass my mind as soon as I got home. I locked all the doors as instructed, also, because I was a paranoiac from time to time, I also made sure that every room in the house was empty, and with me, a small knife was accompanied to make sure that I wouldn't be like those idiots in horror movies. Suck on that, Ghostface!

After I checked the entire house thoroughly, I spent my day productively. I did most of my homework, found some snacks in the fridge and spent the rest of the afternoon just chilling on the couch, looking through shit on my laptop. Nothing too special, just watching some videos on Youtube, movies on Netflix and otherwise just plain gaming on some of the good ones I could find. Outlast proved itself to be amazingly challenging, Slender was just plain annoying because he always just popping up whenever I managed to collect a note and feel successful (smug bastard!), and last but not least, Amnesia. Fuck, those assholes never let me get enough time to hide before they decided to break through the doors. That furniture must've been expensive! Show some decency, guys!

I didn't even realize how much time had passed until I decided to stop playing, and would you guess it, it was twenty-one fucking thirty! Samantha wasn't even home at the time, and it was already pitch black outside. That only added to the suspense of being home alone if a killer decided to break in ..... NAH! That was just way too unbelievable to be-

Ding Dong!

'.... Well, shit.'

I knew for a fact that it wasn't Samantha who was on the door, because she knew well where the spare keys were, and it definitely wasn't Victor, because I knew that he would be too scared to go out during dark, especially with a maniac out there killing people. I sat there for a minute, debating internally with myself whether or not I should go and open the door to whoever was standing outside. Besides, it was almost 10 pm, so who the fuck would actually go knock on the door that late?

Biting my lower lip and cursing to myself, I eventually decided with it and went into the kitchen and got the knife I had laying on the counter and quietly made my way over to the entrance door without a single noise coming from me. Was I afraid? Perhaps a little bit creeped out, and I was the one wielding a knife. Talk about the irony of the situation. However, as I looked through the peep-hole, there was no one standing on the other side.

I blinked, then rubbed my head in frustration, grumbling to myself. "Damn brats, pulling my leg at this hour." It wasn't uncommon for some 'daring' kids to go knock on the door to the daughter of the notorious serial killer that reigned terror over the town years ago. Some shitty kids even made up the rumour that if anyone looked into my eyes, they would die and early grave. Talk about lack of imagination and originality, even for kids.
