My suspension was over, and things seemingly just couldn't get any worse. Not only was my physical being getting shittier by the hour, but things around me weren't implied to get better anytime soon. I hadn't heard a damn thing from Victor over the course of those weeks, either. I tried visiting and calling the hospital several times, but I was never permitted to come because only 'family' was allowed regular visits. Family my ass! Those two poor excuses of parents were as far from that word as anyone could possibly be. If anything, Victor was an orphan. I missed having his ass around.
The remaining days of my suspension passed sooner than I would have preferred, and I dreaded the thought of going back there with everything I got. If anything, I'd rather wind up dead anytime soon instead of having to return, and that's a sentence I'd never thought I'd ever say, at least not during such sinister circumstances as those which were being currently displayed on the table before me. Jeff wouldn't have been the one to do it, though. At least, not yet. He was growing predictable, and each day which passed, he would leave his presence marked to the citizens in the form of grotesque crime scenes.
Despite my reluctance in doing so, I went to school and pretended like nothing had happened. The last thing I was in need of was any unwanted attention, especially from those idiots. However, it was clear that as soon as I stepped into the building, everyone were aware of what I had done in order to be expelled. Turns out that those two skanks I had so brutally been close to murdering that day had spread the rumors that I just attacked them out of the blue, which true in its own way true. Now, wherever I went on campus, those who were unfortunate enough to stand close by would back away from me like I was the Black Plague or something. Seems like my prayers had finally been answered.
Taking a deep breath, I entered the classroom I was supposed to have my first lecture in, and was met with over twenty pairs of eyes on me, including the teacher and one girl who I had just noticed was not one of the original faces I had grown used to seeing in my class. "Back to class at last, I see, miss Black." Said the teacher with little to no emotions detected in his voice. I ignored everyone and soundlessly made my way to my desk and sat down without paying any notice to the eyes looking at me from every possible angle. It was a pain, yet I remained stoic and just placed my head on top of my elbow as I waited for the teacher to continue with whatever lecture he was in the middle of. Turns out it was Algebra. Just my luck.
Though most of my classmates had followed the pattern and turned their focus back onto the teacher's lesson, I still felt a pair of eyes burning my neck from behind. I already aware of who it was; that new girl. I must have been absent during her introduction, but that didn't matter to me at all. Hell, she could be Justin Bieber and I still wouldn't give a shit. Not to mention, I hated the asshole either way, so it might as well have been a win-on-win if she was. Without hesitation, I quickly shifted my head around, placed my hand on top of the chair-back and eyed her sharply, catching her off-guard like a prey in the wildlife. My cold, gray eyes bore into her mild, brown ones, and I could see that her shoulders visibly tensed upon our eye-contact.
"Miss Black, miss Croft, is there anything you would like to share with us?" The teacher's voice broke the silence and I ended up turning around to sit properly in my seat, though my eyes remained as cold as they always were. Croft, now that name was alien to me. A new pupil, undoubtedly.
"Nothing at all, teach." I muttered barely above a whisper and looked out the window with disinterest, not even bothering to pay any attention to what the teacher had to say. Still, I felt her eyes penetrating the back of my neck like drills, and it bothered me intensively. Why couldn't that girl just leave me alone? I cast a glance back over my shoulder, undetected by the teacher, and caught her staring at me just as I had foreseen. Upon spotting my eyes directed onto her, she stiffened and avoided eye contact for the rest of the class until the bell rang.
